During the battle in Fool's Valley, Aerodactyl hadn't suffered any serious injuries. It had merely fainted due to the recoil from using two powerful moves in succession, allowing Liam to capture it with ease.
As an ancient carnivorous Pokémon, Aerodactyl's strength was unquestionable—especially since this one was an exceptional, much larger specimen.

…..
Liam had already gone over Aerodactyl's information and was now considering how to truly tame it. With its aggressive and proud temperament, if released now, it would be a miracle if it didn't attack him outright.
Obeying his commands?
That was out of the question.
Sitting on the swing chair on his balcony, Liam pondered for a long time before coming to a decision: If Aerodactyl refused to listen, that probably meant it needed a good ass-whooping.
If one session didn't work, then another would. And if that still didn't work? That just meant he wasn't hitting hard enough!
Having sorted out his thoughts, Liam felt his mind clear up. He lounged comfortably in the swing, gazing down from the tenth floor.
As night fell, lights flickered on across the luxurious mansions in the town. Some estates, standing majestically in their beautifully landscaped gardens, resembled palaces—like something out of a fairy tale.
"Ugh, I've lost all hope in this world full of the filthy rich," Liam muttered, envious but pretending to be unimpressed. "Those giant mansions must be awful to live in. Imagine running for half an hour just to get to the bathroom—so inconvenient."
With a classic case of sour grapes, Liam only left the swing when he started feeling hungry. He made his way to the kitchen.
The fridge was fully stocked, so he had no trouble filling his stomach. After eating, he released all his Pokémon (except for Onix) and fed them their dinner with the high-quality Pokémon food he had exchanged for.
Inside the room, there was also a small video communication device. Taking advantage of the moment, Liam made a call to Professor Oak, informing him about the ancient Pokémon he had acquired.
The professor was ecstatic, practically wishing he could climb through the screen to see them in person.
Coincidentally, Delia was also at the lab, visiting Aunt Fumiko. So, Liam ended up chatting with her for quite some time, the conversation stretching late into the night before they finally, reluctantly, ended the call.
When Liam turned back, he saw his Pokémon wandering around the room, satisfied after their meal. One by one, he recalled them into their PokéBalls—except for Dratini.
Squatting down, Liam spoke to the little Dragon Pokémon, who still wore an expression of bliss after enjoying its meal.
"Dratini, look— other Pokemon already have a ceremonial nickname. It's kind of our tradition As a part of the tream, shouldn't I give you one too?"
"Dra! Dratini!"
Dratini immediately rejected the idea, closing its eyes and tilting its head up with a proud, aloof demeanor, completely ignoring Liam.
Liam felt a headache coming on. No matter how much he tried to coax it, Dratini refused to cooperate.
In the end, he had no choice but to give up for now, recalling it into its PokéBall before heading to bed.
=============
Early the next morning, Liam finished his breakfast, packed his bags, and reluctantly checked out of the luxurious rescue center. Hopping onto his Bike, he rode out of town.
After some time on the road, as he was about to cross a small wooden bridge, he heard someone shouting from the other side.
"Jessebelle! Just give up! I'll never part with my Growlithe, and I'm not going to marry you! No matter how much you chase after me, it's useless!"
"Growlithe!"
The voice sounded youthful—immature, even—but there was firm determination in the way it spoke.
"Heeheehee! Lord James, this is not up for debate! Hurry up and get rid of that filthy mutt, replace it with a more elegant Pokémon, and come live happily ever after with me! I'll take good care of you, I promise!"
A girl's domineering yet playful voice followed.
Soon, two figures came running across the bridge in a panic—one was a Growlithe, the other was a small boy, no older than three or four.
He had light blue hair that fell past his ears, a determined gaze, and was dressed impeccably—clearly from a wealthy family.
The moment Liam heard the name "James," he was dumbfounded. Staring in shock at the little boy, he realized he was looking at none other than a young version of a future villain.
"You're dreaming, Jessebelle! You don't get to decide my life!" the blue-haired boy, James, turned around and stuck his tongue out at the girl chasing him. "I don't like you at all!"
"Hehehe, how naughty! A young master like you shouldn't behave so poorly—it'll ruin your reputation. Let me teach you what it means to have noble manners!" Jessebelle smiled sweetly, but her eyes burned with anger.
"Gloom, use Razor Leaf!"
"Gloom!"
At her command, her Gloom leaped onto the bridge, spinning rapidly as it unleashed a flurry of Razor Leaf straight toward James and Growlithe.
"Ahh! Help! She's trying to kill me!"
"Growlithe!"
Seeing the attack coming, James panicked and prepared to take the hit, while Growlithe leaped forward, determined to protect him.
"Arcanine, Flamethrower!"
"Roar!"
A massive stream of fire shot over James' head, instantly reducing the incoming Razor Leaf to ashes. But it didn't stop there—the flames continued, engulfing Gloom before it even had a chance to react.
Gloom collapsed in a heap, its body charred and emitting smoke.
"Waaah! Gloom! You'll pay for this, James! Waaaaah—"
Jessebelle burst into tears and ran off, carrying her defeated Gloom.
James stood frozen in shock, unsure of what had just happened. Hearing footsteps behind him, he turned to see Liam approaching, pushing his bike, with Arcanine walking beside him.
"Whoa! Mister, was that you? You're amazing!" James shouted excitedly.
Liam: "... M-Mister?!"
"Yes, yes! You're so strong, Mister! Who are you?" James and Growlithe ran up to Liam, eyes sparkling with admiration.
Liam had originally planned to correct James about calling him "Mister," but before he could, James' eager questioning threw him off. His body moved on instinct.
With a flick of his wrist, he produced a black hole-patterned mask and slowly placed it over his face. In a cold, dramatic voice, he declared:
"Well, since you asked nicely..."
