Chapter 10

I directly hung up the phone and immediately blocked Alec.

A sense of immense satisfaction washed over me.

Riding this wave of good feelings, I started wandering aimlessly through Garrison's mansion.

I explored floor after floor, with no staff stepping in to stop me. It seemed they had all been informed of my status in advance.

They treated me with the same respectful demeanor they showed Garrison.

He flashed a smile, gentler than any I'd seen before.

"I canceled it. I realized suddenly that leaving you here alone to face the storm wasn't something a husband should do."

That 'husband' comment caught me off guard, leaving me unsure how to react.

Garrison, however, walked right up to me, closing the distance between us.
