Chapter 1

I am the male assistant of the beautiful and rich boss Frost.

But she suddenly asked me to help her escape from marriage.

"If you don't come, I'll be dead."

But I got drunk on her wedding day and forgot everything.

The next day at the wedding, Frost looked at me with resentment and fled the wedding scene holding the bridesmaid's hand.

I thought I was going to be fired.

But that night, she showed up at my house in a wedding dress and a diamond ring.

I just walked in the door to find Frost standing on my doorstep.

She looked utterly exhausted, her eyes hollow and lost.

"Teacher Frost, what happened at the wedding? Why are you...?"

I quickly stood up, staring at her in astonishment.

Frost gazed at me, suddenly walking closer step by step.

"Zeke, let me ask you, why didn't you come to stop the wedding?"

I froze, at a loss for words.

Today was supposed to be the joyous occasion of my boss, the brilliant writer Miss Frost, marrying her childhood friend Mr. Soren.

As her personal assistant, I had arrived late.

When I rushed to the church, Frost was being led down the aisle by Soren.

She wore a pure white wedding gown, radiant from head to toe like a blooming lily.

But that face, usually cold as ice, now showed not a hint of a smile.

Amid a shower of blessings, Frost and Soren approached the minister.

As the minister recited the sacred vows in a booming voice, Frost's gaze remained distant and unfocused.

Suddenly, she turned her head and our eyes met.

In that instant, I thought I glimpsed accusation and resentment in her eyes.

My heart skipped a beat, and I hastily averted my gaze. The wedding ceremony had progressed to the ring exchange.

Soren picked up the ring, about to slip it onto Frost's finger.

But Frost stared blankly at the diamond ring, hesitating to move.

A murmur of whispers gradually arose from the crowd.

Just as the priest glanced quizzically at Frost, she suddenly grabbed her bridesmaid's hand and ran off the stage.

The crowd gasped, and the bridesmaid looked bewildered.

Frost didn't look back, ignoring the chatter behind her as she fled towards the exit alone.

Me: "?"

The groom: "......"

The bridesmaid: "!"

"Did Frost just run away from her wedding!? With the bridesmaid!"

"Oh my God, could it be a forbidden romance with the brilliant female author?"

"No way, the bride and groom seemed fine just moments ago......"

The guests buzzed with speculation, and the scene descended into chaos.

Soren stood expressionless on the stage, showing no reaction.

I knew that as Frost's assistant, I should do something at this moment.

But before I could think further, a guest stopped me to interrogate me about the ins and outs of the situation.

It wasn't until dusk fell and the guests had dispersed that I was finally able to break free.
