Chapter 3

"I'm sorry, Teacher Frost. It was my oversight..."

I nervously avoided Frost's gaze, stammering an apology, feeling increasingly uneasy.

No wonder she came rushing over late at night to demand answers. I guess running off with the bridesmaid was just a temporary measure.

"I'm sorry, Teacher Frost. I was careless..."

I apologized sincerely.

"You think a simple 'sorry' is enough?"

Frost's face was cold, her demeanor aggressive.

I laughed awkwardly, blurting out:

"Why don't you just fire me and be done with it?"

I realized my mistake as soon as the words left my mouth.

Frost stared at me, her eyes unreadable.

After a moment, she suddenly leaned in, her cool fingertips caressing my cheek.

"Zeke, I like you. Haven't you noticed all this time?"

I froze, looking at her in disbelief.

Frost, a world-renowned author, who had just run away from her own wedding, was now confessing to me?

I instinctively took a step back, slowly shaking my head: "I don't believe it... unless..."

As I spoke, I made a show of lecherously eyeing Frost's body.

Frost, as if anticipating this move, neither shied away nor showed any embarrassment. With a sneer and raised eyebrow, she taunted, "Unless I strip off my clothes one by one right in front of you, you won't believe me, is that it?"

I sharply inhaled, meeting her mischievous gaze, and stammered, "I-I didn't mean it like that..."

"Then what did you mean?"

Frost advanced step by step, her long, slender fingers already caressing the collar of her blouse.

She tilted her head, studying my reaction, with a playful smile tugging at the corner of her lips.

I could feel my face burning up.

Frost unfastened the first button, her crimson lips parting slightly:

"Zeke, what are you afraid of? Are you scared I might take advantage of you, or that you won't be able to control yourself?"

Her delicate collarbone peeked out, her fair skin gleaming with a lustrous sheen under the light.

I drew in a sharp breath, unconsciously swallowing hard.

Frost's movements as she undid her buttons were slow and tantalizing. The neckline of her wedding dress fell open, revealing her exquisite collarbone and snow-white skin.

She then tried to guide my hand towards her exposed neckline.

I quickly averted my gaze, my ears burning bright red.

"Ms-Teacher Frost, it's getting late. Perhaps you should head home and rest..."

I stuttered, reaching out to open the door and see her off.To my surprise, Frost suddenly gripped my wrist with unexpected strength.

She pulled out a small velvet box from her pocket as if performing a magic trick, and slowly opened it in front of me, revealing a crystal-clear diamond ring inside.

I stared in shock, watching as she gradually opened the box before my eyes, unveiling a dazzling diamond ring.

Frost dropped to one knee, gazing up at me with eyes brimming with sincerity and passion. "Zeke, will you marry me?"

I stood there dumbfounded, my mind exploding with a deafening boom, unable to process everything happening before me.
