Chapter 14

"Frost, you need to rest now."

"I'll come see you again when you've recovered..."

Before I could finish, she grabbed me.

"Don't leave me alone, please..."

Her stubborn plea gripped my heart like an invisible hand.

"Zeke, could you help tidy up the room? Just to keep me company."

Frost looked at me earnestly, her eyes full of longing.

I nodded, turning towards the bedroom to start organizing the scattered sketches and notes.

Outside the window, the setting sun slowly sank, painting the sky in a brilliant crimson.

Frost, draped in a white cashmere shawl, slowly walked to my side.

A gentle breeze rustled, softly lifting the hem of her shawl like a white dove about to take flight.

"I'll walk you down."

She smiled faintly, but her eyes held an inconsolable sadness.

I didn't refuse, letting her take my hand as we walked out of the apartment together.

In the elevator, we stood in silence.

Frost stared at me, her eyes brimming with unspoken emotions.
