Comparing Newspapers— Nobles Are Idiots

(AFTER 5 DAYS)

Sharon's POV—

'... Our benevolent emperor helped in freeing the captives herself. Can you believe it folks? She destroyed that group of scums all by herself. We are truly grateful for such a leader. I still don't understand about nobles call her a 'tyrant.' We common folks are very happy with her. She is someone who understands our feelings, our pain, and our hardships. LONG LIVE THE EMPEROR!! We all love you and trust you whole-heartedly...'

This is what 'The CommonfolksTY' newspaper wrote about me. As the name suggests, this newspaper is written by commoners. Although, they have omitted about Maria. She was the one who did the most of the heavy work.

I really like the editor of this newspaper. They are really going all out in praising me. The funniest part is, they are not trying to even subtle. It seems my plan worked. For me, Commoners>Nobles...

Putting down the newspaper on the table, I grabbed another newspaper from my secretary's hand. This newspaper was written by the nobles.

'... Do we have to live in this fear? If then, how long? Citizens of my empire, I beg you— I beg you all. Male or female, noble or commoner, rich or poor, whore or beggar— I beg everyone to come forward and stop this tyranny of the villainess. Especially, I request our commoner brothers and sisters. I am sorry, gentlemen and ladies but... I can't take her name. Although, you all must know who I am afraid of. She... will just destroy our empire. She will lead our empire to ruins. I... fear... our future...'

Reading these words, caused me to burst in laughter. Wow, they are really scared of me. Then again, they are being dramatic. Secretary looked at me worriedly. He asked, "Are you all alright, Your Majesty?"

I wanted to answer him, but I couldn't. I continued my laughing until, tears leaked from my eyes. My secretary, Leon was getting more and more worried.

Finally composing myself, I rubbed the tears in my eyes. It's better not to cause Leon a heart attack.

"Are they serious? They want to include commoners in their cause. If they want to then... at the very least reduce the price of the newspaper. It's 20 gold coins. No commoner would buy their noble-propaganda based newspaper."

Taking a deep breath, I asked, "Leon?"

"Yes, Your Majesty?"

"You are a commoner, right?"

Leon frowned at me. He replied, "Yes... Your Majesty. You are the one selected me."

"Certainly, that's true." The character design of OG Sharon was that of a just ruler though, some (Nobles) called her a tyrant. Over the period of time, faced with constant criticism, made her go crazy and... BOOM! Here's your villainess. I am not going to snap like my predecessor.

[Are we going to discuss it again?]

'What?'

['Cream bun?' I am telling you, embrace it.]

'Like hell! Embrace your mother! Fuck you! Go and don't come unless... I... call... you. Understood? Wait, no need to answer. Just fucking go.'

[Are you on your period?]

"JUST FUCKING GO!" I yelled loudly, banging my hands on the table. Oops! It seems I shouted loudly. Leon was looking at me with confusion and horror.

"Hahaha... I wasn't yelling at you. I was just preventing my thoughts from becoming haywire. You know it must have happened with you sometime." Leon nodded his frantically.

"Yes! Your Majesty, whatever you say."

"Leon... commoners really like me, don't they?"

"Yes, they... we do. You are very kind to commoners. Even your father, the late emperor was kind to us as well. But you are on the next level. You exempted the taxes of farmers, you helped to set up healing cares for the weaker sections of the society, and much more."

"Leon, I know that." I got the result as I wanted. I need to develop my reputation to such a point that, Kelshin's antics won't even put a dent on my reputation.

"Your Majesty, should we discuss about the upcoming foundation festival?" Leon asked in a serious voice.

Foundation festival? My eyes narrowed a bit. Like Nightinshade incident, which elevated Kelshin's image among the public... this festival did the same.

I looked directly in Leon's eyes and nodded. "Let's discuss," I replied.
