The Meeting (Part— 1)

Sharon's POV—

It's been a week since I lost my virginity. Due to fate's play, I have Kaerin as some sort of an Alpha of mine. Although the rules are blurred, which make my side a bit more privileged than her. I tried testing the theory of her not being able to hurt me... which really proved true. So, I can finally rule out Kaerin from the protagonist's harem. While her actions were weird, I would not question it for the time being.

I touched my neck, the place where Kaerin marked me. With the help of magic, I disguised it. I don't want to expose my relationship with Kaerin in public. A part of me wanted to deny everything, including whatever that happened that night. But I am not an unreasonable person. I have some sense of duty. Denying is for the people, who want to escape from responsibilities. I am not that type of person. I detest them.

As for the heat... I have not experienced anything after having sex that day. My theory is after having sex for once, it may get subsided from the intercourse. Although, there is another theory running in my mind. Maybe the longer it is, the more no of times of intercourse increases. I am not sure. It might be a speculation.

The book is still shrouded in mystery. Apart from me, I can't trust anyone with its duty. Maybe I can take the help of Kaerin to solve this. On top of that, Maria hasn't contacted me.

[Host, can I ask you something?]

'Go ahead. You won't stop even if I ask you to.'

[Host... you have already become 'a cream bun,' haven't you? That day, when you slept with Kaerin.]

I froze for a moment. Come to think of it... it doesn't count. Kaerin is a female alpha. So, having sex with her changes nothing. I had sex with a woman and that was that. My purpose hasn't changed a bit.

'No, I haven't. Kaerin is woman, not a man. My purpose is not to become protagonist's cream bun, and I don't want to have sex with a man. I detest it. It gives me creeps just thinking about it. What's with this sarcastic tone? I gritted my teeth in anger.

'Fuck you! Now go and don't disturb me unless, you have something important to say.'

I focused back on my work. There are still two weeks for the foundation festival to take place. Suddenly, someone knocked at the door.

"Enter," I said.

It was Leon who entered the study. He bowed and greeted me. After greeting, he said, "The NC and the AC both groups are already present in the meeting room. If you would be kind enough to come with me, we can get the meeting started."

I nodded and got up from the chair. Thankfully, I was in my emperor robes. If not, then I would have to the change into it.

I followed Leon and entered the meeting room. The inhabitants of the room stood up and greeted me. Well, it was half-assed greeting. They clearly don't want me as their ruler. Then it's bad for them as I don't give a fuck to them.

"Sit down," I ordered them, as I took my seat, the head of the table's seat. Leon stood beside me. Kaerin entered the room and stood on the other side of me. "Sorry, I am late," she apologized. Most of the habitants were looking at her in disgust. If it was before then, I would have ignored their reactions. But now, I can't. At that time, my goal was to manipulate her by helping her.

"I would like you all to stop giving looks to my personal knight," I warned them. Kaerin looked at me in shock. Did she think that I wouldn't defend her? Honestly, you have marked me so that makes you, my responsibility.

A man said, "Your Majesty, I can't believe that you would bring a demi-human to our sacred land. Not only that but also, you have appointed this creature as your personal knight."

"The duke is right. You have sullied our land. Your ancestors must be rolling in their graves," said another man.

People of both groups agreed with them. They started to voice out their inner thoughts which turned the meeting room into that of a fish market. Hah! The sheer audacity of these people. Did they forget about me? Me, the emperor of this empire is sitting right in front of them. How dare they?

I banged my hands on the table, which cause them to turn towards me. Good! They are silent now.
