Chapter 13

"Are you two ganging up on me?" I hunched over, puffing out my cheeks in anger. Asher walked in and poked me, saying to Cora, "Look, Cora, Mom's turning into a pufferfish."

Cora reminds me so much of myself as a child, with her mischievous nature. I just can't stay mad at her.

"Let's hurry up and eat. After breakfast, we'll all take Cora to school together."

If I remember correctly, this is the first time we're all going to drop Cora off at school together.

Just by taking Cora to the school entrance, I had my picture taken.

Suddenly, everyone was speculating about my relationship with Cora.

This time, however, they didn't dwell on the nanny angle, but directly pointed out my true identity.

They said I was Cora's birth mother, and even included a high-resolution photo from the scene.

I dropped Cora off at the kindergarten entrance, while Asher leaned against the car, watching us.

What a picture-perfect family scene!
