Beyond The Grey

When the world was engulfed by the enigmatic Grey Mist, humanity’s reality fractured. The Mist warps those who enter it, creating mindless monstrosities called Drifters and horrifying, sentient beings known as Shades. Yet, within this chaos, some individuals—those who confront their deepest fears—emerge as Shin’ensha ("Abyss Walkers"), wielders of monstrous powers that come at the risk of their own humanity. Others, born immune to the Mist, become the Kiyome, rare individuals whose purified blood can forge weapons to battle the horrors of the new world.



Arata, a broken man haunted by the guilt of failing to protect the children in his care, has survived the Trial of the Mist. Shackled by chains that embody his regret, he wanders a desolate Japan without purpose—until he meets Haruka, a defiant young girl seeking the mythical sanctuary of Takamagahara, rumored to hold the key to ending the Mist. Haruka’s father was part of the secretive research team whose experiments on an eldritch monument deep beneath the earth triggered the Mist’s release, and her search for answers might also be humanity’s last hope.



Together, Arata and Haruka embark on a perilous journey into the heart of the Mist, battling Shades, uncovering buried truths, and evading the fanatical Kuroto Order, a cult that worships the Mist as divine judgment. As Arata wrestles with his inner demons and his growing powers, he must decide whether redemption lies in protecting Haruka or sacrificing everything to break the chains binding the world to despair.



In a realm where survival means confronting the abyss within, how far will they go to reclaim a world consumed by the Grey?
