GUILD Building System

The sun hung high in the sky, its relentless heat beating down on Fallowmere's streets.

Tobi wiped the sweat from his brow as he trailed behind the group, his newly earned pouch of coins jingling faintly at his side.

The others had already divided the spoils of their morning hunt, and though his share was modest compared to theirs, Tobi wasn't complaining.

"Fifty bronze coins," he muttered to himself, glancing down at the small bag. It didn't look like much, but to him, it was a fortune.

"Not bad for a first outing, huh?" Garin had said when handing him the pouch. "Spend it wisely, kid."

Tobi knew exactly how much value those coins held. It was enough for several nights at the inn, meals, or perhaps even some better equipment.

Compared to the others, who likely earned hundreds of bronze or even silver coins on tougher jobs, his share was laughable. But to someone starting from scratch, it felt like a lifeline.

"Thanks again," Tobi had said, genuinely grateful.

"Don't mention it," Lyra had replied with a grin. "Just don't blow it all on ale and bad decisions."

Tobi smirked at the memory as he walked down the dusty street. His shortsword hung at his hip, its weight still unfamiliar but oddly comforting.

He had survived his first encounter, earned some coin, and was starting to get the hang of this new world.

But the afternoon sun was merciless, and the thought of returning to the cool shade of the inn became more appealing with each step.

As Tobi turned a corner onto a quieter street, his foot caught on a loose stone, sending him sprawling to the ground.

"Damn it," he muttered, pushing himself up with a grimace.

It was then that he noticed something strange.

Hovering in the air before him was a faintly glowing screen, translucent and shimmering with an otherworldly light.

"What the...?" Tobi blinked, wiping his eyes as if the heat had made him hallucinate. But the screen remained, hovering silently in front of him.

Words scrawled across its surface in a neat, mechanical font:

[GUILD Building System Activated]

[Progress toward GUILD Creation]

[Funds: 50 Bronze Coins (Current Value: Minimal)]

[Members Recruited: 0 (Current Status: Empty)]

[Objectives]

[Gather 5 Silver Coins to fund initial GUILD registration (Not Done)]

[Recruit at least 3 Adventurers to form the founding team. (Not Done)]

[Secure a GUILD building (Cost: Variable)]

Tobi stared at the screen, his mind racing. "A GUILD system?" he whispered. "Wait, is this... mine?"

The screen flickered as if in response, and new text appeared.

[Welcome, GUILD Master Candidate!]

The GUILD Building System has been assigned to you. Your task is to create, manage, and lead a GUILD that will thrive in this world. Progress will be tracked, and milestones will unlock additional features. Good luck.]

Tobi reached out instinctively, his fingers brushing the glowing surface. It rippled like water but offered no resistance.

"This is insane," he said, his voice tinged with both awe and disbelief. "A whole system... for me? To build a GUILD?"

The thought had crossed his mind before — how lucrative and exciting it might be to establish a GUILD of his own. But he had dismissed it as a pipe dream, something far beyond his means or abilities.

Yet here it was, a system practically tailored for him, offering a roadmap to make it a reality.

Still, the goals seemed daunting. Five silver coins felt like an impossible sum when he had only fifty bronze to his name.

And recruiting members? He'd barely scraped through one outing without embarrassing himself.

He sighed, the weight of the task settling over him. "One step at a time," he muttered.

The screen flickered again before vanishing, leaving Tobi standing alone in the street. He shook his head and started walking, his thoughts swirling with questions and possibilities.

The inn was a welcome relief from the sweltering heat. Tobi pushed open the heavy wooden door, stepping into the dimly lit common room.

The air inside was cooler, filled with the hum of conversation and the clink of mugs.

"One bronze coin for another night," the innkeeper said gruffly as Tobi approached the counter.

Tobi nodded, fishing a coin from his pouch. "Here you go."

The man handed him a key without much fanfare, and Tobi made his way upstairs to his modest room. It wasn't much — just a bed, a small table, and a single window that let in a faint breeze — but it was enough.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, Tobi let out a long breath. His mind was still racing from the encounter with the GUILD system. He needed to make sense of it, to figure out what it meant for him and how he could use it.

"Alright," he said, closing his eyes and focusing. "How do I bring it back?"

As if responding to his thoughts, the glowing screen reappeared, hovering in the air before him.

[GUILD Building System]

The objectives list flashed again, and Tobi studied it carefully.

"Five silver coins," he muttered. "That's... what? Five hundred bronze coins?" He let out a low whistle. "At this rate, I'll need weeks just to save up enough. And that's not even counting the building or recruiting people."

Still, the idea of leading a GUILD was tempting. He could already picture it: a grand hall bustling with adventurers, contracts pouring in, and his name known across the land.

"It's not impossible," he said, determination hardening his voice. "It's just going to take time."

He glanced at the second objective — recruiting members. That, too, seemed like a challenge. He didn't know anyone in this world, and convincing people to join him would require more than just words.

The screen flickered again, displaying a new line of text:

[Tip: Establishing credibility through small victories will attract potential members. Start by building your reputation as a capable leader.]

Tobi nodded slowly. "So, prove myself first. Makes sense."

He leaned back against the wall, his mind churning with possibilities. Tomorrow, he would head back to the adventurer district and see if there were any more small jobs he could take on.

He needed to earn more coins and, just as importantly, gain experience.

But for now, he allowed himself a moment to rest. The weight of the day's events settled over him, and the pull of sleep grew stronger.
