*Present*
That monster is the reason why I'm stuck in this darkness. I don't remember what happened after that time but all I know is that I can't seem to wake up for some reason. Which is weird if you ask me because why would a normal person be in some kind of coma after being terrified. I mean, Maggie would literally scare the hell out of me when we are walking in a dark place so why is it different now.
Alot of thoughts ran through my mind and without realizing it, the oblivion took a hold of me.
" You cannot keep her here Chris, when you know that when she wakes up it will be hard for you and your beast." Jaime, Christopher's friend said.
"What did you expect me to do? Leave her in the woods for him to find her?" Christopher asked in a cold tone.
"We both know he never comes to this part of the forest. And you were supposed to take her straight to the Meyfar rather than bringing her here". Jaime reasoned.
Christopher remained quiet, like he was thinking of what to do next. He then stood up and left the manor, the Shadowcrest manor. It is nestled deep within the heart of the Elaron Forest, Shadowcrest manor is shrouded in mist and hidden from the prying eyes of the outside world. The manor is built into the side of a rocky hill, surrounded by ancient trees whose branches seem to guard the secrets within.
The exterior of the manor is a mix of natural stone and dark wood, blending seamlessly with the surrounding forest. The architecture is a blend of gothic and rustic styles, with arched windows, stone gargoyles, and intricate wooden carvings of forest creatures.
A massive wooden door with iron reinforcements serves as the main entrance. The door is adorned with carvings of ancient symbols, hinting at the manor's mystical origins.
The manor is protected by powerful warding spells that deter intruders and shield it from unwanted attention. Only those with pure intentions can find and enter the manor.
Later that day, Christopher came back from wherever he went.
"She still hasn't woken up?" He asked Audrine.
" No master." Audrine answer with a bow.
"Is there something I should know?" Christopher asked because he noticed her playing with the hem of her dress.
Audrine was being hesitant.
"Don't make me ask again Audrine!" He said in a calm yet dangerous voice.
"Well, master" She began.
"Miss moved her fingers two nights ago and even though her eyes were shut, her brows moved a little bit." She said.
"Then why didn't you tell me?" He asked.
"We thought she would wake up later that day and tell you then, but she didn't. So we thought it was not that big of a deal." She explained.
Christopher looked at the sleeping girl for some time and then turned around to leave.
"What game is the moon goddess playing?" He mumbled.
He went straight to his room and found his guards at the entrance, they bowed as he went in.
The bedroom is spacious with a high, vaulted ceiling adorned with wooden beams. The walls are a combination of stone and dark wood, creating a cozy yet ancient feel.
Gentle, warm light emanates from enchanted lanterns hanging from the ceiling and walls. These lanterns glow softly with a magical blue hue, casting shadows that dance across the room.
At the center of the room is a massive, four-poster bed made from polished dark wood. The bed is draped with luxurious furs and velvet blankets, providing warmth and comfort. Intricate carvings of forest creatures and mystical symbols decorate the wooden frame.
Elegant tapestries depicting scenes of ancient battles and mythical creatures hang from the walls. Each tapestry tells a story, adding depth to the room's decor.
"Horry!" He called, and immediately the door opened showing a huge, muscular man.
"You called for me, master?" Horry asked.
"Tell Jaime to come here immediately." He commanded and Horry bowed, turned around and left.
Minutes later, the door opened and a tall,
about 6 feet, with a lean but muscular build entered the room.
His dark brown hair is often tousled and windswept, reaching just above his shoulders. He usually ties it back with a leather strap when in the thick of action.
His piercing green eyes are both sharp and warm, reflecting his keen intelligence and compassionate nature. Jaime prefers practical clothing suitable for the wilderness, a combination of leather armor and sturdy boots. He wears a forest-green cloak that blends well with the surroundings, and a belt equipped with various tools and a dagger.
Jaime's loyalty to Christopher is unwavering. He stands by his friend through thick and thin, often putting Christopher's well-being above his own.
"You summoned me, master?" Jaime said with a bow and a sly smile on his face.
"Cut the crap, Idiot. When did you start calling me that when we're alone?" Christopher scoffed.
"Well, it was fun till it lasted." Jaime said with a smile.
"Is the moon goddess trying to punish me or something?" Christopher asked.
"You're talking about her sleeping like a dead person after a little scare? Yes. Yes they are." Jaime smirked.
"Then why the hell did they bring her here if they knew she was not going to be of use to me." Christopher roared, seeming upset already.
"Dude, relax. The important thing is that she's here at least." Jaime said.
Christopher was deep in thoughts, he does not understand why the moon goddess decided to play with him during this difficult time. How on earth is he supposed to do what he has to do when she's in a freaking coma.
