Beast vs. Beast

Lizarius lay on the cracked ground, dust swirling around him like a shroud. He thought, Killing a Rank 5 beast isn't as easy as I thought. The dust settled, revealing Lizarius standing, his body riddled with injuries. The poison... he began, but his thoughts were cut short by a looming shadow.

He looked up. The crocodile stood before him, towering like a colossal monument, its blue eyes glowing with predatory intensity. Looks like the poison hasn't kicked in yet, Lizarius thought. I have to stall for time.

The crocodile lunged, its massive jaws agape. Lizarius reacted instantly, opening his mouth and unleashing a deafening roar. The sound waves surged into the crocodile's open maw, traveling deep within its body.

The crocodile roared in agony, coughing up blood. The internal injuries from the sound wave attack caused its body to tremble.

Now I need to distance myself, Lizarius thought, attempting to take flight. But before he could ascend, the crocodile's tail lashed out again. Lizarius saw it coming, but he was unable to fully evade. He braced himself, using his wings to shield himself. The tail struck him with tremendous force, sending him crashing through a cluster of trees.

Lizarius lay amidst the wreckage, his body battered and broken. He coughed up blood, slowly struggling to his feet. One of his wings was visibly damaged, torn and mangled. He looked at the crocodile, which stood panting, its mouth smeared with blood, injuries from the lightning attack visible.

This beast is stronger than I thought, Lizarius realized. My wing is damaged. I won't be able to fly. I could probably escape from this distance... His yellow eyes glowed with determination. But it looks like it's on its last breath.

Lizarius stood, his body crackling with lightning. I just have to land one strong hit to kill it, he thought, bracing himself for a final, decisive attack.
