THE ONES LEFT BEHIND ARE THE ONES WHO FEEL THE MOST PAIN

PROPLAY GAMING STUDIOS.

"That's the infamous Anderson group, isn't it?"

"Oh my, he is the one who always appears on television and in newspapers, right? A tall, young, handsome, and successful."

"They own many businesses in the country and abroad. This is the first time I saw them live. "

"I heard rumors that they are the mafia these days. If that's true, then a real mafia is now in front of me. Even politicians and law enforcement are afraid of them."

"Shush... If that's true, you won't want to face them or lose your life the next day."

"But, why did they come here?"

Hans Anderson's arrival at the company made the workers start talking to each other. Either way, Hans came with quite a large group. Outside and inside, every corner of the company is guarded by people with dark glasses and black coats standing around watching. It's like this is a spy movie, but it's actually happening in the real world.

The CEO, Isaac Hansen, watched the commotion from the top floor. He is aware that the man will come today, and he has already told the head of every department about this; not all employees know it.

He thought he wanted to deal with this quietly to avoid unnecessary attention as Hans Anderson is quite the celebrity. However, seeing this, the person in question doesn't care about the attention as long as the objective is achieved.

"He seems to want to do a large-scale investigation just for you, Emma." He said to himself while taking a deep breath.

Isaac has known Emma for 10 years now, since the first time the girl entered this company as a game developer. They quickly formed a close bond, transitioning from a boss-worker relationship to a friendship. Emma is a very transparent person; her emotions are always written on her face. This honesty sometimes puts Isaac in a difficult position as he struggles to navigate her feelings.

"You know what, boss, my family is a mafia. But a good type of that."

At first, he thought Emma was joking, but it turns out she was really telling the truth. He knows her last name is Anderson but doesn't know it's that 'Anderson.' But he only sees her as Emma, his employee. He never asks more, but when she tells stories, he lends his ears.

"I'm serious. We are like that Bat*** superhero."

He can only laugh it out.

"When hearing or thinking about this kind of organization, you must think that the mafia is not something good. Don't you know, boss, there are many mafias out there who protect people, help those in need, and do various other good deeds that are unknown to the public. Our mafia way is different; we even pay taxes and do good for society. Of course, to the public, we are described as criminals who do everything against the law. But are laws too pure? We protect what we need to protect, and we hunt people that deserve to be killed, which even the law can't even handle them."

Listening to her talk all serious like this, something did scare him, but it never shook their bond. Listen, and don't judge. That seems to be the rule in this friendship, and he doesn't know when it started.

Sometimes, he wonders why Emma always tells personal stories like this, as if she wants him to know her more, and he is not wrong about that.

"I like you, boss, as a man. I really do. I know you would never see me that way, but I just want to confess so I don't regret it one day. You don't have to answer or feel burdened because of this."

However, it's hard for him to feign ignorance when he already knows everything, right?

"I know! How about we make a mafia video game for our next project? It will be fun, right?"

Didn't want to make things more awkward between them, Emma blurts out. He thinks she feels shy about the confession, but seeing her excited face, he knows he got it all wrong. Because of that, he gave her the green light to do it.

However, the game will never be launched. He can't allow that to happen. As this is Emma's personal project with her teams, he didn't want to take advantage of it even though the development of the games was already in the final stage. This is the honor he can think of for her, even though he has suffered a loss.

Ting!

The sound of the elevator arriving at his floor began to be clearly heard, making Isaac forget his memories of Emma and return to reality. He really hopes that everything goes smoothly today without any problems.

Hans's face continued to appear in front of him as soon as the nearby elevator door opened.

"Sir Isaac. Thank you for allowing me to be here today." Realizing that the CEO of the company was in front of him, Hans said this as soon as he got out of the elevator.

Hans even extended his hand first in greeting, which Isaac didn't expect because, on the day of Emma's funeral, this young man looked so cold and distant. They are in a different league, after all, and he is still aware of how dangerous this young man is. Hans Anderson is a mafia, after all.

This warm greeting was unexpected, but it immediately put Isaac at ease.

"This is the least that I can do for Emma, who I already consider as a family."

"Like family?" Hans doesn't understand it because the relationship between boss and employee should only remain professional. To him, at least.

Isaac's smile was tinged with a hint of awkwardness, adding a layer of discomfort to the conversation.

"Um, so many things happen in life, and it ends up like that. Emma even got close to my daughter, and they are good friends."

"Your daughter, where is she? Sorry for asking, but if she is nearby, can I ask her about my sister?"

Isaac's face continued to change upon hearing the question.

"That's... a little difficult. You see, my daughter is actually sick. She has been sick since birth and had to live in the hospital, but now she has fallen into a coma. She has been like that for a month, and I don't know whether she will wake up again. "

Hans looked at Isaac without comment.

"Emma knows about your daughter's condition? "

"Of course she is. She even cried for her when that situation happened. Harder than me."

Hans can't believe that. Emma is not someone who shows weakness out front like that. He didn't even remember if she ever cried as she always smiled and laughed.

"Does that mean my sister frequently visits the hospital to see your daughter?"

"Yes, that's true."

Hans nodded in understanding, his heart heavy with the weight of this new information. He didn't know whether this was important or not, but he was grateful to have learned something new about his sister.

"Sorry for the commotion that happened and about all these issues. We will investigate this entire building, even if it is not the department where Emma works. Everything, including access to CCTV. I hope you understand, and I promise to solve it quickly."

Isaac nodded.

"I understand. Don't worry. We will cooperate fully. Let me guide you to his office."

Hans nodded in agreement. So they walked side by side, not far from where they were standing. Isaac opened the huge office himself to show Hans the inside.

"Emma used this floor with her game developer teams together as she refused to have a private office room. She loves the busy situation that happens here. I have also told all employees not to enter this room since the incident because of the police investigation, as she died here."

"I know; the police have checked everything and concluded her death was sudden death." The word 'sudden' hung in the air, a stark reminder of the abruptness of Emma's departure, leaving everyone in a state of profound shock and disbelief.

"Yes... I don't think we can use this room anymore now as we always said that this place is hers. That's how this place is very important to her."

There was a moment of silence.

"Now, there is her desk, and in the box are her belongings, which I have packed for you to take home. Oh, I almost forgot, her full desktop PC set. You can also bring it back because she used her own money to buy it. I'm sure she wants you to have it all. Sorry, I haven't opened it yet."

"It's okay. I'll take care of it from here. Thank you."

"I leave you alone now. Feel free to do whatever you want to do here, and you can call me whenever you need me. My staff is also around if you need help."

Hans nodded.

"Sir?"

The person who was with him at the time started to speak as soon as Isaac left.

"Leave me here alone for a while." Hans directs as he needs it.

As soon as they left, he began to rummage to her belongings that were arranged in the box. Her toiletries, t-shirt, snacks, books, plush toys that she weirdly collects, laptop, lots of CDs that Hans knows are related to her job, and various other strange things are there.

"She's living here, isn't she?" Hans can't help but chuckle.

In addition, there are pictures of Emma with her co-worker and a girl dressed as a hospital patient, and Hans knows who the girl is after talking to Isaac earlier. That picture is happily taken as if a person has no problems at all. Hans doesn't know what his feelings are now, seeing that she is already gone forever from this world.

Naturally, the ones left behind are the ones who feel the most pain, and he feels it more now than the day he saw her lifeless body. His emotions were a turbulent sea, threatening to overwhelm him at any moment.

He then tried to turn on his Desktop PC, but before it turned on, his phone rang. Matheo, who investigated Emma's apartment at that time, is the one who contacted him.

"Report." He said with a firm tone, but suddenly,

Zap! Zzzzzttt!

A loud noise suddenly came from the direction of the Desktop PC, which started to light up and seemed to flicker for a while. It was a high-pitched whirring sound, unlike anything Hans had heard before.

'What is that?'

Hans was a little surprised and started moving the mouse to see what was happening to the PC. and wanted to try to shut it down, but it seemed like it was lagging. As he was listening to Matheo, he couldn't be patient and continued to unplug the main plug of the PC, forcing it to shut down.

"Nothing at all? No foul play?"

Hans didn't know whether that news was something good or not.

"I will also finish quickly here, but I need to stop by the hospital first. There is something I want to confirm. See you at our headquarters."

Putting his phone down into his pocket, he continued to summon his people again, who faithfully waited outside to do the task and did not forget to order all of Emma's belongings to be placed in his car.

"Today will be a long day."
