"Shut up" Grumbled Axel as he slowly came too from his nap. Picking up his phone he checked the time which indicated, 7:38pm. He'd been napping for awhile it seems.
Looking around, all that he could see was the cans he drank earlier as the TV had been muted.
'Probably the neighbours' he stumbled up as he went to pick up his cans.
"Fuck, my head hurts bad" he didn't even drink that much, not to mention his body was aching something fierce. Maybe he should just secure dinner rather than adding booze on top.
He hadn't taken off anything, so he grabbed his keys from the small kitchen bench just before the front door. He took the cans in a bag he bought them in to the bins outside.
These apartments were similar to his old ones, so he didn't need to think too much about where things were.
Looking around however, he finally figured out why the price was dirt cheap. It was a high crime area, alot of people avoided it like the plague.
But this was nothing new, being as old as he was, you pick up habits and more from the streets.
Walking out the front gates where the bins were, he decided on pizza from a 24/7 close by. Axel didn't feel like all that extra bullshit that came with ordering online. It was too expensive from where he was located at anyway.
"You said you'd have it last Friday bitch- where is it then!" Yelled an older man,
as Axel passed what looked to be loan sharks and another random young man.
He couldn't help but overhear the conversation.
"Please, just one more day, my grandma is sick and needs medication. I can't afford to pay you back right now!" The young man being hounded pleaded. His back against the wall as the biggest one pressed into him more.
But that was the way it is for normal people and Axel wasn't interested in getting involved-
"Hey" Axel spoke up as the men turned to him. He wasn't interested in being involved that much was the truth. But even so, he had morals that he prided himself to uphold.
"What the hell you doing scoping around others business twig!?" Spat one of them as Axel ignored the comment.
"How much does he owe you?"
"Huh?"
"I said, how much does he owe you?" Axel repeated, this time, long and slow.
"This bitch, what's it to ya? You know him?" The guy bugged on as Axel's left eye twitched a little.
"Yeah, I do, he's my cousin." Axel lied through his teeth but it didn't mean anything anyway.
"Is that so, well if that's the case- he owes about 3k since last month" the lie was so obvious because as soon as it had been said, the guy who was getting pressed went to challenge it.
Not caring anymore, Axel pulled out some of the cash he pulled out earlier when getting the alcohol.
He never trusted banks, he still didn't, they always wanted money even if you owed them nothing.
So he made a habit of pulling out at least some if not half.
Pulling out the envelope from his pocket, the three men walked up to Axel and took it. Immediately the biggest one who was holding the guy to the wall counted the bills.
"Tsk" he frown, as it was all accounted for.
"You're lucky boy, your cousin bailed you out before you became fresh organs to sell" he laughed manically before giving one last look at Axel and left with the two others.
"You shouldn't have done that" the young man who was just pleading for his life said.
"Funny way of thanking someone" Axel replied as he watched the man get up slowly, covered in bruises and rattled to the core.
He played off his own misfortunes well, eyes not giving away just how scared he had been moments ago.
"They'll remember you and come for the rest" he stated as Axel shrugged.
"I got it by chance anyway"
"That's not what I meant"
He knew what the young man's words meant, he'd made those mistakes before and only just paid them off. They're not just loan sharks but crooks, soiled to the bone in soot.
"My names Oliver-" started the young man but was cut off.
"-Don't care, didn't ask" another lie.
"If you didn't care, you wouldn't have helped" doesn't it just sting when someone hits the nail on the head?
Sighing he turned to Oliver, "Listen, I didn't do it for you, I did it to soothe my concious. Call it a selfish action, I'm not here to be a hero" Axel finished, as Oliver looked down at his school bag on the ground.
He was definitely in his last year in highschool, a normal life for someone not chosen.
They had schools and academy's for the gifted but not the percentage of normality.
"Thank you anyway" Oliver said as he turned around and headed up the road Axel had just come from.
'Strange kid, more worried about others than himself.'
Eventually he got to the 24/7 store and now had another problem...
'Shit, what type should I get?' It was infact the worst kind of problem, cause he was hungry but only bought things he was sure to eat.
Scratching his head, he suddenly noticed in the reflection of the glass panel to the frozen foods three suited men enter.
'They wasted no time huh' he thought with a dead expression.
Crooks never change from their ways, so petty to get the last laugh from humiliation. Although what seemed like a blessing to do originally came at a cost.
Axel knew this already but like he said before, it was a selfish thing to soothe his own conscious.
"What you laughing at!?" Being punched in the stomach didn't amount to much on an empty one. "Bloody weirdo"
Being dropped to the floor tied up and kicked in the face? Please, he wasn't a frist timer. Axel knew how to take blows and handle them so it wouldn't hurt as much.
Old habits die hard after all.
"Axel Qarry huh?" The big man from before came in chewing on some jerky. As his lackies watched or kicked the shit out of him.
'Son of a bitch' he thought as this bastard came prepared not even an hour later. Probably high connections somewhere within double crossing law enforcement.
He knew the risks, it's too late to regret his choices now.
"Seems like you're a poor man, I thought I had scoped someone big for a second. But you just got a victim's assistance package not even a day ago"
It was late now, around 9:48pm, he shouldn't have taken so long to decide. He knew they'd eventually come for him like the petty criminals they were.
"Oh well, once I dispose of you I'll just take the rest" he bellow laughed loudly as the others smiled sinisterly.
The mock and chop business if he ever saw it. Torment and kill a person for anything as little as getting dirt on your shoe.

'Huh?'
[Do you agree to uphold the three principles]
'The what now?' Not a good time to hallucinate a random calling to Insanity faced with a life or death situation.
[Yes/No]
What harm was there to give into the delusions before the end?
'Sure, why not' he sarcastically replied in his mind as everything around him came to a stand still.
The pain he had felt moments before seemed to vanish as the ropes that had his ankles and hands tied did too.

"What the hell is going on!?" Standing up, everyone around him was at a stand still. There was no sound except from the random robotic voice he thought was his breaking point delusions!

"For what!? To who!?" Couldn't this thing talking through his mind see the situation he was in!? Who in their right mind- actually no, this was a hoax.
Yeah, maybe he never left his apartment and this was a drunken fantasy of his forgotten dreams coming to play.

'Ah fuck' gripping his head he screamed back almost in his mind his acceptance. But unknowingly he signed away his life to a forgien hand at play.
