Ch 11: Upheaval at the End of Divine Awakening Ceremony

This boy had sensitivity for both Mana and Aura and their grades were also quite high. The grade of Aura Sensitivity was B+ while the grade for Mana Sensitivity was A.

For these people A was the highest grade one could reach, so seeing this almost broke their mind. Now the only thing left for them to check was the affinities.

Immediately without wasting any time, the Bishop was about to start a speech about what kind of amazing benefits the temple gave to their own. But before he could do that, he was interrupted.

A regular looking, regularly dressed man of regular height and structure suddenly spoke up from the crowd. He told Alexis that he was from the crown and for someone as talented as him, the crown was definitely going to offer great benefits including making him a high ranking noble.

Seeing this man, Bishop Connoe clicked his tongue. The rulers of this nation had many associates hidden in every corner of this nation. Their task was to gather information and to sent them back to the crown.

The Bishop was aware that this city also a crown's lackey but he had never been able to identify who that person was. But today that man had revealed himself just to make sure that Alexis was not taken in by the temple.

This showed how impressive Alexis' talent was. But Bishop Connoe was still unwilling to let this gold mine go.

So after thinking about some pros and cons, the Bishop decided to make a risky move. He immediately looked at his bodyguard and the strongest man of the city. Just my this, Gran was able to understand the Bishop's intention and got ready to make a move.

Connoe's plan was simple. He was going to antagonise the crown and was planning to forcefully take Alexis under his care. It was very risky to go against the crown while living in this nation but Alexis' talent was valuable enough for the Bishop to take this risk.

Even though an agent of the crown was here, he had no combat ability. And even if this man had already asked for reinforcement from the crown, they would need some time to show up here.

With how powerful Gran was, Bishop Connoe was sure that he would be able to take Alexis with him to a bigger temple with more power or even to a different nation before the reinforcement from the crown could come here.

Then they would not need to worry about the ruler of this somewhat weak and backwater nation anymore.

With that plan in mind, Gran immediately moved to take Alexis under his control. But just as he was about to hold the little boy, Alexis moved out of the way.

This made Gran extremely surprised as he was unable to believe that he had failed to catch a little boy with all his strength. This fact made him extremely unsatisfied.

As for Alexis, after getting away from Gran, he looked at him calmly and asked him what he was trying to do. This attitude from the little boy made Gran even more angry.

So he shouted in anger and order Alexis to come to him. Seeing this furious reaction, Alexis smiled at him mockingly and said -

"Why are you squealing like a pig ? I have no intention to get near a dirty old man like you."

Hearing that was enough to send Gran to overdrive and he immediately took out his sword and tried to attack Alexis in fury.

But before he could make his move, he saw Alexis suddenly creating a magic circle behind him and from that magic circle a continuous volley of fireballs came toward him.

This was a sudden attack so Gran had no time to use any defensive skills. So he was forced to dodge the volley of fireballs. Noticing the power behind the attack, Gran became cautious and finally decided to get serious.

So now Alexis was about to have his first battle in the eyes of the public.
