Ch 17: Beginning School Life

Royal Academy of Sonitasia was the biggest educational institution of the nation of Octavia.The named of the academy was a tribute to Sage Sonitasia, who was a good friend of the founding king even though he had never joined the Octavia Kingdom.

All the children of nobles needed to attend this academy. There were also times when some particularly talented commoners were also given a chance to study here. But an incident like that was very rare.

This academy did not only taught the students knowledge but gave them an all around education that was most of the time custom made for each one of them.

Amongst various nations of the Karte region, Octavia Kingdom was a leading figure. The main reason behind that was this academy and it's high educational standard.

Obviously more powerful nations of other regions had better institutions than this but for nations like theirs which did not have a hero and were not consider to be very high in terms of national power, this institution was very good.

As a place for gathering knowledge and wisdom, normally the academy always had a solemn atmosphere. But something was different with the academy during their beginning of their current term.

All the students and even teachers looked extremely excited. Even the headmaster of the academy, who was famous for his serious nature had excitement clearly written on his face.

As for the reason why this was happening, that was simple. On this day, their academy would be blessed with the presence of one and only Archduke Langesior.

Archduke Alexis Langesior was a legendary figure in their nation. When he was made into an Archduke who had the same level of authority as the king of the nation, many people were dissatisfied with it.

But then when the Hero Association officially recognised the Archduke as a Hero Heir, everyone immediately changed their mind changed about him.

If he was declared to be just a Hero Seed then this would not be the case. Becoming a Hero Hopeful would have the same effect but in future people might still become unconvinced again if he failed to become a hero sooner.

But after becoming a Hero Heir, there was no way anyone with good intentions about the nation would be dissatisfied with him.

Hero Heirs were extremely strong and lacked only a single thing that stopped them from being a full fledged hero and that was their age. In some senses, a Hero Heir were even more impressive than a Hero as their potential, most of time were higher than regular heroes.

The Headmaster of the Academy, Brandon Soliteer was a Hero Seed himself. But after so many years he was sure that the realm of the hero was not for him. He had tried very hard during his youth but he always fell short of reaching that fabled realm.

That was the reason why Brandon was so impressed by Alexis. He had managed to accomplish something at a very young age that he had failed at. But Brandon was not jealous about it after so many years and instead he was just in awe.

Very soon a luxurious looking carriage stopped before the school gates. Almost immediately realising who would be coming out from the carriage, all the people present in front of the institution gates stopped whatever they were doing and looked at the carriage intently.

This carriage was ran by a powerful looking magjc beast and the one who was controlling these beasts was a beautiful lady in a maid's dress. She came down from her seat at the front and opened the door of the carriage while bowing her head.

Then from the carriage, first another beautiful lady stepped out. This lady was none other than Leyla. As this was her dear son's first day in the school, she did not want to miss it.

Then finally the main star of the show came out. Alexis was wearing the same uniform as all the other students but for some reason, his uniform looked magestic on him.

In the last two year, Alexis had grown quite a bit. Even though he was still only 12 years old, he looked like a 15 or 16 year old. Many young ladies present in the area had their heart beating fast after seeing Alexis.

His black hair and deep black eyes looked very mysterious and his body perfectly build body was to die for. Some of the teachers, who were strong fighters noticed that the way Alexis was simply standing was not showing any gaps in his defense at all.

After coming out of the carriage, Alexis greeted all the teachers would respect. He even greeted with the students with a gentle smile on his face. Seeing a smile on such a handsome face was a critical hit for quite a few ladies.

The fresher welcoming ceremony of the academy was about to begin in an hour but before that Alexis was invited to the headmaster's room for a chat. Alexis was not surprised by this and followed the headmaster to his office.

Actually the headmaster also had an affinity for fire element so he liked to discuss various spell with Alexis. As a top tier mage himself and with the memories of a dragon's magic, Alexis was very knowledgeable about this so he had given the headmaster quite a few good advice.

That was the reason whenever Brandon met Alexis, he would have a discussion about magic with him. Alexis did not mind this as he was fond of people who were devoted to their interests and as Brandon himself was a good mage, the discussions he had with Brandon were quite beneficial to him too.

But as today they did not have much time in hand, Brandon had to end the discussion early. Then both of them went to the academy auditorium together.

As the representative of the new students, Alexis addressed all the student bodies and the teachers. He gave a speech and told everyone that he was here for an authentic school experience so there was no need to treat him as the duke and the fellow students could call him by his name.

After that, Alexis was taken to his classroom. The students in this academy were divided into several different grades depending on their talents. All the top talents were sent to the S grade class while the bottom tier talents who had just barely managed to qualify for the academy were sent to the F grade class.

Obviously Alexis was part of the S grade class and he noticed that other than him 13 other children had also managed to qualify for this highest grade. Alexis was impressed by it as the number of S students this year was higher than the last two years.

Alexis had gotten a seat at the far corner of the right side of the classroom. He did have the opportunity to choose a seat of his choice but Alexis had declined that offer. He would not be staying in this class for too long so it was not a big deal.

After taking his seat, Alexis greeted the person sitting next to his seat. It was a girl wearing thick glasses. As soon as Alexis greeted her, her face turned red and she became nervous. But still she greeted Alexis back with her small voice.

This girl was Clara Olesuer. She was the daughter of a small count but she had quite a high talent and potential. Her skills were not really suited for a fighter but were more suited for a scholar. Still they were impressive enough to give Clara a place in the S grade class.

Other than her, Alexis also greeted the girl sitting in front of his seat. She was completely opposite of Clara and was an energetic and cheerful girl. Her name was Glory and she was the third daughter of marquis Balema.

So these would be the some of the classmates beside whom Alexis would spend the next five years of his school life.
