The world seemed very much on fire in 1911, as the atmosphere of a world war was looming on the horizon on a large scale; the whole world feared the consequences of these wars, which would not be short-term, but rather long, and might be wars followed by fierce battles between countries competing for sovereignty, leadership, land, and ideology as well. Despite the fear and anxiety of the peoples for their interests, the lives of their children, and their future, the merchants of death were preparing to reap the fruits of these wars and pushing countries towards these wars and conflicts that might never end. Conflicts were also ongoing between European warlords and arms dealers who dreamed of making a huge fortune from selling more and more ammunition, light and heavy weapons.
