The Phoenix’s Past

A remote monastery in the mountains of Myanmar. Felix is still haunted by his past, arrives at the monastery seeking answers. The head monk recognizes him and speaks of an ancient warrior known as The Phoenix—not just a person, but a recurring force that rises whenever the balance of power is threatened. The monk hands Felix an old journal, written by someone who bore the title before. Inside, Felix finds a familiar name: his former mentor.

The cold mountain air bites at Felix’s skin as he ascends the last stretch of the winding path. Towering stone statues, eroded by time, flank the entrance to the monastery—silent sentinels of an ancient order. A faint scent of incense lingers in the air as he steps through the wooden gate, where monks in deep-red robes move in quiet contemplation.

An elderly monk, his face lined with age and wisdom, watches from the steps of the main temple. There is no surprise in his gaze—only recognition.
