A high-tech lab beneath Geneva. Liang Ren entered the sterile, dimly lit laboratory, the hum of machines filling the air. Rows of containment pods lined the walls, their faint glow casting eerie reflections on the polished floor. He walked forward, his gaze fixed on the largest pod at the center of the room.
A scientist, clad in a crisp white lab coat, stepped forward. “Do you know what you are about to deliver?”
Liang Ren remained silent, his hands clenched at his sides. He had followed orders, carried out missions without question. But something about this moment felt different. The weight of it pressed against his chest.
The scientist met his gaze before pressing a button on a nearby console. A hiss of decompression followed, and the containment pod flickered to life.
Inside was not a machine, nor a vial of engineered virus.
Inside was a person.
Liang Ren stiffened, his breath catching in his throat. “What is this?”
