Chapter 11- End of the year

Harry took some time to recover in the hospital wing of Hogwarts under the care of Madame Pomfrey as the destruction of the Hocrux within him had affected him too.

Ron, Hermione, Dumbledore, Sirius, Lupin, Neville, Luna, Ginny and Constantine gave him company though while he recovered. He always had at least one of them by his side while he recovered.

Peter Pettigrew was preparing to flee when the door burst open and Sirius and Lupin stood there, wands aimed at him.

"Hello, old friend", Sirius greeted him sarcastically.

"Going somewhere?" Lupin inquired in a mocking tone as Pettigrew stammered in fear.

"Come on, Si-Sirius, Remus, we-we, were friends, rig-"

He was suddenly lifted up telekinetically as Zatanna appeared, her wand aimed at him, and Constantine walked up next to her.

"Can't talk your way out this time, mate", Constantine quipped to him.

"Now we're gonna take you where you belong", Zatanna added.

Fudge was signing something on this desk when suddenly Pettigrew was thrown across his desk telekinetically by Zatanna, the paperwork fluttering here and there as Fudge's eyes widened in horror.

"I did it! I betrayed James and Lily! I murdered Cedric! I brought You-Know-Who back! I did it! I did it all!" Pettigrew confessed really, really fast, as Fudge looked at him with wide eyes, then at Constantine and Zatanna standing across his desk casually.

"So, what do ya say, eh?" Constantine asked, then cracked his neck. "You know, your laws are so stupid they keep the Wizarding World behind in terms of technology, which can honestly take down the whole place if you and Muggles got into a war. Not to mention, you have completely ruined the sweet for me!"

"You too?" Zatanna asked and Constantine nodded with a sigh. "Yeah, he did that for me too. The Wizarding Community is so backwards and stupid its all laughable, and he is stupidest of them all really with all he has done this year."

"Tell me about it", Constantine scoffed as he restrained Pettigrew telekinetically and bound him with magical ropes, then both he and Zatanna walked out of the room, leaving a dumbfounded Fudge behind.

Before leaving, Zatanna chanted. "ekaM eht retsiniM eht ssakcaj eh si."

And then they were gone as something happened.

A while later, Kingsley walked in with some other Aurors to arrest Wormtail. "We're here, Minis-"

To their shock, Fudge now had the ears of a jackass on his head.

"Minister, what happened?" Kingsley inquired as all of them struggled to control their laughter.

When Fudge tried to talk, only braying sounds came out as none of them could control themselves and burst into laughter.

The idiotic Minister of Magic was pretty much forced to resign after the mess he had made and so Ministry interference at Hogwarts was at an end.

Not to mention after the banishment of Umbridge to Hell, most Ministry officials were scared to even step foot on the grounds of the magic school.

Constantine had made sure the Ministry of Magic knew their actual place now, and it was not at the top in the Wizarding World or anywhere else due to their stupidity.

The year was almost at an end as Constantine found Draco near the Great Hall and walked to him. "How are you doing, mate? Your father was one of them and is in Azkaban now."

"You know, I have been a spokesperson of Death Eaters until the middle of this year, then, you showed me what can happen", Draco looked at Constantine with a grateful expression. "Where it can lead to, so I think I understand my former views were wrong. He is still my father, so I love him, but I do not support his actions, and neither my mother's, who was not a Death Eater but did support my father."

"Well, we can say you wisened up then, squire", Constantine smirked and tapped the Malfoy heir's shoulder. "Good job."

"My old friends hate me now but I could care less what they think, considering they agreed with me but never really listened to what I said", Draco sighed. "I feel much better than I have before."

Pointing at him, Constantine said. "Hold onto that feeling."

Draco held out his hand. "Thank you, Constantine."

Constantine smirked and shook it. "No problem, mate." He walked off, waving slightly. "The year is over so I'll go, but I'll see you around."

Constantine found Luna walking happily with a skip in her steps alongside Ginny as he asked. "What's the matter, ladies? Seem really happy, eh?"

"People used to hide my things till last year, this year I have them all", Luna gave Constantine another hug which he returned. "Thank you."

"I know", Constantine said as he shared a nod with Ginny.

"Mum is freaking out when she learnt all we did", Ginny told him.

"And?"

"I told her we make our own decisions", Ginny replied.

"Atta-girl", he patted her shoulder as both girls walked off and he found Neville next, looking happy too.

"Is it happy day or something?" Constantine asked.

"My grandmum wrote me a latter saying she is proud of me for being able to destroy Dementors and also going to the Ministry", Neville said happily. "It's because of you! Thank you!"

"Not a problem", Constantine assured as he returned to his office, where Harry was there.

"Hello, mate."

"Hello."

"You've helped me and the rest of us a lot this year, you know?" Harry said as Constantine took his seat. "So-"

"If you say thank you, I'll banish you to Hell."

Harry's eyes widened as Constantine snickered. "Just joking, mate."

"Astra", Harry then said as Constantine's face now betrayed some emotion at her name. "What happened to her?"

"Her mum died, she was my friend, we tried to bring her back but a Demon possessed the girl, I summoned a more powerful one to take the Demon away, but it dragged the girl away", Constantine told Harry guiltily. "Everything I've done since then has been to make up for the souls I've damned. Astra's, and mine. To be honest though, I'm a lost cause, just have a hard time accepting it."

"No, you're not", Harry assured the conman sincerely. "You're a good man Constantine, remember that."

He gave him a smile Constantine returned, as Ron and Hermione arrived too.

"You're off now, right?" Ron inquired.

"Yeah, soon enough."

"We're gonna miss you", Hermione confessed.

"Really?" Constantine asked with a naughty smirk.

"Oh yes we are", Hermione told him.

"Will we see you again?" Ron then asked.

Constantine gave them a card to his place. "If you want to, you can see me here, and I can come around again since I am allowed to be guest lecturer from next year onwards."

As he stood up, all three wrapped him in a hug, catching him off-guard, then he smiled and hugged them back.

"Nice drink", Constantine drank what Rosmerta had made him.

"I'm disappointed you have to go back now", Rosmerta confessed to him.

"Here you go", Constantine handed her his card too and winked. "Floo Network's always open. Plus, still guest lecturer."

She smirked as they shared a peck, and he was off.

Harry stood at his parents' graves now, where Sirius and Lupin had taken him, when Constantine appeared next to him.

"Voldemort has been hurting me since I was a baby, now he's gone, its almost hard to believe", Harry confessed to the older man.

Constantine put a hand on his shoulder and assured him. "Voldy was weak, always was. Now that he's gone, your life is now yours to choose from. No more looking over your shoulder for fanatics to cause messes that should have ended years ago. Your folks loved you, kid. That's why you were able to survive that night. Love can be one of the most powerful forces in the universe. Threat's gone, live as you want to, it'll take some adjustment, I'm sure, but in the end, you'll find that all you've lost is the weight off your shoulders."

Harry looked at Constantine, the two thinking about how much they'd been there for each other, the humor they had introduced in each other's lives, it was an unlikely kind of friendship.

Both shared one more smile.

Constantine had finally got his payment and put it on Esrin's table. "My debt, now paid. In full."

"John Constantine, keeping his word? The world has gone mad."

"Always has been, luv. The old geezer gave me a job teaching children, if that isn't madness, don't know what is."

"Try not to get in any more debts."

"We both know that'll never happen."

A while later, Harry was back at the Dursleys' place after the Order had threatened them to treat him better for the limited time he was going to stay there.

As they unpacked, there was a knock and Vernon opened the door to see Constantine. "Who are you? Another one of-"

Constantine produced a fake NSPCC card. "Child services mate." He walked past Vernon, both him and Petunia staring in fear. "I've heard Mr. Potter here gets treated really badly."

Harry looked at Constantine with a smirk as Petunia started. "Now listen Mr.-"

Constantine's eyes glowed as he spewed flames, destroying some stuff here and there as Dudley screamed and ran off, hiding behind a couch.

"If you even lay a hand on him", Constantine snapped his fingers and a portal appeared on the ground, Demonic hands clawing out of it as both Vernon and Petunia screamed in terror, "that is where you will go. Besides, he won't be staying here long as his Godfather will take him to his place in a week or two, but don't even think of touching him for this amount of time."

"Thanks Constantine", Harry said gratefully when he was done.

"See ya around, mate", Constantine walked out the door, leaving the Dursleys still staring after him, dumbfounded.

Zed Martin was making some drawings when Constantine appeared in front of her, giving his trademark grin. "There's my girl."

"Oh John, it's been a while, but good to see you", she stood up and hugged him as he hugged back, and then they both sat down. "So, what brings you here?"

"You won't believe the havoc I've caused in this last year."
