The Mystic Moon Sect

Li Xueyan led the group deeper into the forest. The trees grew taller, their branches twisting like ancient arms reaching for the sky. A strange mist covered the ground, making it hard to see.

Jin Hu shivered. "Are you sure this is the right way?"

Xueyan didn't stop walking. "Yes."

Minister Zhang looked around nervously. "This place feels… unnatural."

Feng Zhiwei remained silent, his sharp eyes scanning the mist.

The Mystic Moon Sect was known for its illusions. Anyone who entered without permission could be lost forever.

But Xueyan was prepared.

She reached into her robe and pulled out a jade pendant. The symbol on it glowed faintly.

A gust of wind blew through the forest. The mist shifted.

And suddenly, the trees parted to reveal an ancient temple.

---

The Temple of Illusions

The temple was built from dark stone, its walls covered in glowing symbols. Lanterns floated in the air without any strings, casting an eerie blue light.

Jin Hu exhaled. "This place… doesn't feel real."

Zhang swallowed hard. "That's because it's not."

Xueyan stepped forward. "We must be careful. The Mystic Moon Sect does not welcome outsiders."

As if answering her words, a voice echoed through the air.

"Who dares trespass?"

Mist swirled, and figures appeared—disciples of the Mystic Moon Sect. They wore silver masks, their robes blending with the fog.

One of them, a tall man with silver hair, stepped forward. His voice was calm but firm.

"You are not welcome here."

Xueyan lifted her pendant. "I have come to see Elder Huang."

The man's eyes narrowed. "The Elder does not meet strangers."

Xueyan held her ground. "Tell him the daughter of Li Tianlong has come."

A murmur ran through the disciples.

The silver-haired man studied her for a long moment. Then, without a word, he turned and walked toward the temple.

The others remained, watching them closely.

Jin Hu leaned over and whispered, "Are we sure this Elder won't kill us?"

Xueyan sighed. "We'll find out soon."

Meeting Elder Huang

After what felt like forever, the silver-haired man returned.

"The Elder will see you."

Xueyan nodded and followed him inside.

The temple was even stranger on the inside. Doors appeared and disappeared, hallways twisted in impossible directions. Without a guide, no one could escape.

Finally, they reached a grand hall. Candles floated in the air, their flames burning purple. A lone figure sat on a cushion, his long beard touching the ground.

Elder Huang.

His eyes, deep and knowing, met Xueyan's.

"So, you have come."

Xueyan bowed. "Elder Huang. I need your help."

The old man chuckled. "Help? Or answers?"

She clenched her fists. "Both."

The Truth About the Eternal Shadow Sect

Elder Huang sighed. "I know why you are here. You seek the truth about your father's death."

Zhang stepped forward. "And the Eternal Shadow Sect."

At those words, the air in the room grew heavy. The candles flickered.

Elder Huang's eyes darkened. "You speak of dangerous things, Minister Zhang."

Xueyan held her ground. "Then tell me. Who are they?"

The Elder was silent for a long moment. Then he spoke.

"They are the ones who control Tianxia from the shadows. The Emperor is but a puppet. The Seven Great Sects? Pawns in their game."

Jin Hu frowned. "But how? No one even knows they exist."

Elder Huang exhaled. "Because they do not fight with swords or fists. They fight with whispers, secrets, and fear."

Zhang's face paled. "That means… they have spies everywhere."

Elder Huang nodded. "Even in this room, we may not be safe."

Xueyan felt a chill. Her father had died because he discovered this truth.

Zhiwei, who had been silent until now, finally spoke.

"Can they be defeated?"

Elder Huang looked at him. "Perhaps. But not by strength alone."

Xueyan narrowed her eyes. "Then how?"

The Elder leaned forward. "By exposing them. By breaking the illusion they have built for centuries."

Zhiwei crossed his arms. "Easier said than done."

Elder Huang chuckled. "Indeed. But you are not alone."

He turned to Xueyan. "Your bloodline carries the Phoenix Flame. It may hold the key."

Xueyan's breath caught. "Phoenix Flame?"

The Elder nodded. "The gift of your ancestors. A power long thought to be lost."

Jin Hu whistled. "That sounds important."

Zhang's eyes widened. "If that is true, then—"

A loud crash interrupted him.

The doors to the hall burst open.

A disciple ran in, his face pale.

"Elder! The temple is under attack!"

The Black Sun Hall Strikes

Outside, the night sky burned red.

The Black Sun Hall had found them.

Flames erupted as masked warriors charged into the temple. Their weapons dripped with dark energy.

Xueyan drew her sword. "They never stop coming."

Zhiwei unsheathed his blade. "Then we make them regret it."

Jin Hu grinned. "Finally, some action!"

Elder Huang stood, his old eyes gleaming. "The Mystic Moon Sect will not fall tonight."

Xueyan's heart pounded. They had come for her. For the truth she was seeking.

But she wasn't running.

This time, she would fight.

The battle for the truth had begun.
