The Next Day...

*Beep… beep… beep…*

The monotonous sound of the alarm echoed in the small room. Aliff, who had just returned from his class, quickly turned off the alarm that belonged to his roommate's phone.

"Hey, Wake up!" shouted Aliff loud enough to wake someone from a deep sleep.

"Hah!!!" Naim woke up startled, almost falling off his bed. "Hey, can't you wake me up in a nicer way? You almost gave me a heart attack!" said Naim.

"So what?, do you think I care?" replied Aliff with cold eyes, as if he felt no guilt at all.

"You're so cruel for a friend," complained Naim.

"By the way, what time is it now?" Naim looked at his phone with blurry eyes. "Oh no!!! I'm late again. I'm going to get scolded by my teacher again!" he lamented with a pale face.

"I'm doomed, I'm doomed!!!"

"Who told you to go out at night? That's the consequence," said Aliff while placing his bag on his bed and sitting on a swivel chair.

"That's my hobby," replied Naim weakly.

"Hobby? Last night you looked like a dead man. You call that a hobby?"

Naim remained silent, unable to respond to his roommate's harsh words.

"Hah!"

"Hey Aliff, do you want to see last night's video?" Naim suddenly asked.

"Last night's video?, what video?"

"Yeah, last night's video. Look at this, it's insane bro, like a fantasy movie," said Naim as he opened his laptop and showed the video to Aliff.

"What!!! This…" Aliff looked very shocked by what he saw in the video.

"What is it, Aliff?" asked Naim with a puzzled face.

"You better delete this video now!" said Aliff with a firm voice and a threatening face.

"Hey, Aliff, calm down. I know you're strong, very strong. But no matter how strong you are, I'm more afraid of Anna, bro!"

"Anna is a demon, if you want me to delete this video, you have to ask Anna first."

"Hmm..."

"Do you have any other copies of this video?" asked Aliff with cold eyes. Although his eyes were covered by his hair, Naim could feel the intimidating gaze.

"Y, yes…" replied Naim with a trembling voice.

"Hey, why did you record last night's fight?" said Aliff angrily when he met Anna in the café. Everyone in the café looked at them, including Anna's friends.

"Come, follow me first," Anna pulled Aliff's hand and led him out of the café.

"Where are you taking me?" protested Aliff.

"Just shut up and follow me," replied Anna firmly.

After walking quite a distance from the café, Anna finally let go of Aliff's hand.

"Why did you record that fight? Are you planning to upload it to YouTube? And then the video will be seen by the whole world, and you'll be happy because you became popular? What about me, people who see the video might think I'm crazy!"

"Hmm…" Anna smiled innocently.

"Hey, why are you smiling like that? I'm serious right now!"

"Why do you seem so angry?" asked Anna calmly.

"And since when did I say I was going to upload the video to YouTube? I recorded it just for myself. Besides, we're living in a different era now. We can change your face to someone else's or a face we create ourselves," said Anna calmly.

"For yourself?" replied Aliff, puzzled.

"Come with me," Anna invited Aliff to follow her.

In the Library...

"Hey, Aliff, do you know about String Theory?"

"I don't know," he replied.

"Hee, you like reading novels, don't you? How come you don't know?"

"I don't know. I only read 2D novels."

"Ohh, I didn't expect you to be a weeb."

"If you don't understand what a weeb is, better keep quiet," replied Aliff.

Anna was searching for a book.

"Hah! Here it is," Anna took the book and opened it. They both sat on the floor.

"In this book titled String Theory, it mentions that the world we live in actually has 11 dimensions, but we can't see those dimensions."

"Since you didn't read this book, I'll explain it in a way you can understand."

"Okay, let's assume 1 dimension is time. Humans can only see 3 dimensions, which are length, width, and height."

"If it's true that our world has 11 dimensions, and humans can only see 3 dimensions, not including the 1 dimension of time, there are still 7 dimensions that can't be seen by human eyes."

"In my opinion, maybe those 7 dimensions are where very powerful beings reside. Maybe in those 7 dimensions, there are beings whose existence is beyond 3 dimensions. And since you can see their existence, maybe you're one of them."

"Wait, how does this girl know I can see them? Who is she really?" thought Aliff.

"But that's just my opinion. I might be wrong," replied Anna.

"I want to ask you something, can I?" said Aliff.

"How did you know I could see them?"

"Do you remember a few days ago, when you fought alone in class? That's when I started to feel something strange about you. After I got home from class, I tried to look up something."

"What I was looking for was about invisible beings. On a website, it explained about invisible beings."

"The website said, have you ever seen someone fighting or talking alone? If you see them, you might think they're crazy, but I don't think so. Maybe they can see something we can't see. Some people can see ghosts, and some can't. For example, from the perspective of a child, it's said that children can see spirits, but we can't. So, I think, if people can see beings that others can't, they might be born to see things we can't."

"Ehh, why do you think that?" asked Anna.

"Alright, Aliff, it's time for me to go home now."

"By the way, Aliff, do you want to join us tonight?"

Anna looked at him with eyes pleading for him to join.

"Alright, I'll go," replied Aliff.

"Really? I'm so happy, see you tonight then."

"Yeah," replied Aliff.

"Why did I agree to go with them?"

Aliff didn't understand himself.
