Chapter 17: Time to kill it!
Raymond watched Gubzo's despair when he appeared and killed the first serpent that was deeply injured.
His powerful strike finished Gubzo and everyone else as he stared at the now empty cave, releasing another serpent.
'Unique dungeon? This is the best!'
Raymond had decided to use the dungeon to his advantage.
He planned to release more and more beasts inside that would kill the helpless goblins. The beasts would level up, and then he would enter and defeat the beasts, simply to level up himself.
"Not fair, Ray Ray. We should also get the chance to level up…" Jeroy asked, puffing her cheeks.
"Bitch, he ain't no pushover to listen to you," Dex, ready to kick her, declared.
"Why not?" Ray mumbled.
And Dex, who had swung his leg mid-air, fell to the ground.
"Hehehee, idiot," she taunted Dex as she jumped towards Raymond, who had just exited the dungeon.
"Thank you, Ray!" she almost tried to kiss him, but Ray simply grabbed her collar and lifted her up with his left hand.
He then simply dropped her to the ground as she fell on her butt.
"Ouch."
"Serves you right, bitch."
They were bantering as usual, and Raymond had joined in to humor them.
However, his gaze fell on the expectant team, Eliyah and the rest, who were wondering what he was planning to do with the dungeon.
"No need to inform the guild about this."
Upon hearing Ray's words, Eliyah was almost certain that he was planning to farm just like they had.
However, she didn't say anything and just listened to Ray.
"Those goblins will now suffer for eternity for having laid their hands on a human."
There was a glint of rage in Raymond's eyes as he made the statement.
Eliyah, who had already lost Gilbert, felt a fleeting moment of happiness.
Those goblins would get tormented left and right… she couldn't have been happier, right?
Wrong! These careless humans could have only faintly imagined what they had done…
…
This is unfair…
I was helpless, totally helpless.
No matter how much I tried, I failed each time to kill that beast. But I was getting closer.
I was close… very close…
In the darkness, I could feel my face wet. It was as if tears were streaming down my eyes.
Just imagine… you do all the hard work yet at the end, someone else comes and reaps the benefits.
"How annoying," I muttered as I respawned.
My eyes blinked on their own while my kin remained behind me.
None had died this time, for I could see the beast right in front of me.
It had coiled itself and was sitting next to the portal.
It was staring our way.
This beast also knew the skill 'Stealth'. I could only make out its features briefly.
"How annoying."
I had to do everything all over again.
I had to weaken the beast again.
I had to…
I realized… the human would simply wait until the right moment and would come to snatch away the weakened beast, to level up.
I frowned.
This was, once again, unfair.
I gritted my teeth until I could hear them break.
I clenched my fist until I heard the bones crack.
My eyes remained wide open until I started tearing up.
And I tilted my head bizarrely until it pained.
"I guess I'm lucky."
I hadn't used this earlier, so I hadn't known, but Stucky made sure that this time, I'm not left out.
Stucky showed two things:
『Profile』
『Name: ???』 『Lv.10』
『Race: Greenland Slithering Serpent』 『Rank: E』 『Age: 11 days』
『HP: 38/38』
『MP: 52/52』
『Strength: 18』
『Agility: 40』
『Intelligence: 26』
『Perception: 10』
『Dexterity: 5』
『Constitution: 17』
『Hunger: 11/80』
『Stat Point(s): 20』
No, displaying the profile surely did help me understand the stats of the beast, but that was not it.
What Stucky said to me was: 『Notice! From now on, if a target has 'Stat Point(s)', you can kill the target and acquire the points.』
I couldn't help but wonder if that human Gilbert had some stat points…
I shook my head and focused on the second thing that Stucky showed. Finally, it was another mission.
『Final Tutorial Mission』
『—> Kill the Serpent』 『incomplete』
『—> Kill all the goblin kin』 『incomplete』
『—> Devour the Serpent』 『incomplete』
『Rewards:』
Rank-Up Feature: A new feature will be added. As the name suggests, the host will be able to increase his rank from F to SSS for 5 seconds. Note: the ranking up applies to all skills and stats. (Can be used only once a day) Level-Ups: You will level up 5 times. Skill Card x1 (Skill cards are specific cards that hold a particular skill. The advantage of having a skill in the card is that you can learn the skill whenever you want and not just immediately. You can even lend it to someone else so that they can learn the skill.)
I didn't understand what Stucky meant by 'tutorial', but the mission it displayed and its rewards were simply exquisite.
However, the mission seemed quite disturbing.
Stucky wanted me to kill the serpent.
Stucky wanted me to eat the serpent.
Stucky wanted me to kill my goblin family.
Stucky wants me to grow stronger.
"Ha…," I briefly stared at my fellow goblins, each of whom were cowering in fear.
"Cruel world we live in, don't we?" I gave a faint smile before retracting my gaze.
I stared at the serpent that was staring back at me.
It hadn't attacked yet.
It continued to stare, as if analyzing me.
I simply smirked.
I had increased my perception enough to actually detect the serpent that was far from strong at the moment.
Sure, it was faster than the human Gilbert, but that wasn't enough.
"Time to kill it."
I had finally decided to kill the beast.
I had accumulated quite a bit of experience, but in real terms of strength, I was still a weakling.
Any chance to defeat the serpent in a fight? Yes. That was to wait for my hunger stat to grow!
『Hunger: 5/60』
Long way to go.
