"The winner is – Liebe."
Kirah was breathing heavily, her legs trembling as she braced herself on her knees. The words echoed through the arena, but she fought against the shaking in her limbs.
Liebe remained silent. No celebration, no arrogance—just a brief, calm glance at Kirah. He gave a slight nod, as if the outcome had been predetermined.
Suddenly, the air hummed. The resonance barriers flickered before dissolving. The next fight was being prepared.
"Kyro. Nia."
"It's your turn."
Kyro vs. Nia – The Tactical Battle of Resonances
High above them, the large holographic screen displayed the names of the two fighters standing in the middle of the ruined ring.
Kyro vs. Nia
Kyro (focused, calm) stood with a firm stance, his muscles relaxed – but ready.
Nia (tense, determined) knew this fight was different. Kyro was not just anyone.
Rioji (neutral):
"Fighters ready?"
His voice echoed through the arena.
"Begin!"
The first strike came like lightning.
Kyro exploded forward, his reflexes enhanced by Resonance Requiem. His body became one with the movement – no wasted breath, no hesitation.
His fist shot toward Nia.
She ducked, dodged sideways – but Kyro had expected it.
His knee shot up.
CRACK!
A direct hit to her ribs. Pain shot through her body. A dull burning sensation crawled through her nerves as her lungs gasped for air.
Nia (coughing, shocked):
"Ugh…!"
She stumbled backward, clutching her side.
Ezryel observed her closely.
Ezryel (watching, with a hint of respect):
"She's still standing."
Liebe (thoughtful):
"But for how long?"
Kyro gave her no time to recover.
His next fist shot toward her head with brutal precision.
Nia jumped back – but too slow.
Kyro's kick slammed into her shoulder. She was thrown across the arena, sliding across the ground until she came to a stop in a cloud of dust.
Kyro (looking down at her, calm but focused):
"That's not enough."
Nia (internally, panting):
"Damn… he's faster than I expected…"
Her body ached. Not just from the hits – but from the overwhelming dominance of her opponent.
Kyro moved again.
His next attack came from an angle she couldn't predict.
He struck.
Nia instinctively raised her arms – and then it happened.
A black rift appeared in front of her.
Kyro's fist vanished into it.
A blink of an eye later, it reappeared on the other side of the arena – and smashed into the ground.
Kyro stumbled.
Kyro (gritting his teeth):
"What the hell?!"
The arena fell silent.
The spectators held their breath.
Nia stared at her hands.
She hadn't done it consciously.
She had just… reacted.
And her resonance had responded.
Neo jumped up.
Neo (astonished):
"That's not her usual resonance! That's… something new!"
Ezryel (smirking):
"Now it gets interesting."
Liebe (watching):
"She adapted. Now Kyro is the one backing off."
Nia began to understand.
This wasn't just a random defensive reaction.
It was a new power. Something that had been dormant inside her and was now awakening.
And she would use it.
Kyro attacked again.
But this time he couldn't hit anything.
His fists swung into empty space.
Every time he struck – Nia vanished.
Her body became a shadow, reappearing behind him.
A kick – Kyro dodged.
A punch – she teleported.
He was starting to punch into nothing.
Kyro (frustrated, internally):
"How is she suddenly… so fast?"
Nia realized her advantage.
She let him attack – only to make him swing into empty air.
She moved now with frightening precision.
Her next kick aimed at Kyro's ribs.
As he tried to block – her leg vanished.
And reappeared behind him.
BAM!
Kyro staggered forward.
He had taken the hit fully.
Kyro (gritting his teeth, angry):
"Damn it!"
Nia landed safely, her determined eyes locked onto him.
Nia (panting, but focused):
"I can win."
Kyro breathed heavily.
His gaze darkened.
Kyro (growling, frustrated):
"That's enough…"
The air distorted.
Not gently – but strained, as if under immense pressure.
A faint humming spread as Kyro pushed his power to the limit.
His breathing deepened. His body began to radiate heat.
Then –
Eclipse was born.
Kyro's eyes glowed. A dark, blue fire pulsed around him as his resonance changed.
His body was no longer just fast.
He was unpredictable.
His resonance now combined the raw shockwave power of the Kōtai Resonance with the plasma-burning energy of the Shizen Resonance (Fire & Air).
Kyro (whispering, with newfound clarity):
"I… understand it now."
Nia attacked.
But this time –
Kyro sliced through the rift.
A sound like shattering glass.
Nia's Black Hole collapsed.
Nia (shocked):
"No…!"
Kyro's final attacks were brutal.
He struck.
His punch hit her head with full force.
She stumbled, her body nearly collapsing – but Kyro wasn't done.
He pulled back.
His fist crashed directly into the ribs he had hit before.
A crack.
Nia fell.
The sand around them was thrown up by the shockwave.
Cracks spread beneath them.
Nia lay motionless.
Rioji stepped forward.
His gaze moved between the two fighters.
He waited.
But Nia no longer moved.
A brief pause.
Then he raised his hand.
"Nia can no longer fight."
Another pause.
"The winner is – Kyro."
Kyro slowly exhaled.
His gaze wandered to Nia.
She lay in the sand, her hands clenched into fists.
But then –
A faint smile.
She had lost.
But she was not broken.
She had learned.
And next time…
She would not lose.
