Emma thought her life was going to take a dark turn, one that would never see daylight again. All these she thought when her stepfather used her as collateral to pay off his debts.

Emma got dressed quickly and waited for Zane in the living room for what seemed like an hour.

Zane finally came out with a blue blazer suit and blue pants as well. With one glance, one could mistake that he was attending a wedding ceremony. Emma wondered if he truly wasn't going for a wedding party.

Zane stared at Emma for a while before he walked past her without looking at her face. Zane opened the door and turned to face Emma.

Emma saw the motion and thought Zane was opening the door for her to pass first, but Zane voiced out immediately she turned to face him.

With that, Zane left without waiting for Emma to respond. Emma was dumbfounded by this. she wondered why she would even think that Zane would do such a sweet move for her.

She thought he enjoyed the meal and wanted to soften up a little on her, but she forgot he was a local street thug.
