As Emma settled into the car, Sofia leaned back against the seat, a knowing smirk playing on her lips.

"Zane must've had a hell of a conversation with you," she remarked casually, her eyes watching Emma closely.

Emma hesitated for a moment. She wasn't sure what Sofia meant by that, but instead of dwelling on it, she redirected the conversation.

"He was just giving me instructions," she said, glancing out the window. "Telling me how to behave outside… I practically don't even know the rules."

Then, after a pause, she turned to Sofia and added, "He also doesn't want me to relate with you that much."

Sofia's smirk widened slightly.

Emma was a smart girl. A very smart girl.

But Sofia had caught something from the very beginning—Emma's facial expressions had given her away completely.
