CHAPTER 71

Sofia placed her fork down lightly, dabbing the corner of her lips with a napkin before standing up from the dining table.

Her movements were graceful, controlled, but there was a quiet sharpness in the air, something unspoken lingering between them.

She turned her gaze to Zane, her lips curling into a faint smirk.

"I'll be leaving tomorrow, just like I promised."

Her tone was light, almost teasing, but there was something underneath it—a hint of something more, something only she and Zane could truly understand.

Zane's face remained unreadable, his posture still, almost detached.

To anyone else, Sofia's words might have sounded like a simple joke—but Emma knew better.

She was hinting at something.

Something she wasn't saying outright.
