Chapter 57: True Kindness
The principle of overwhelming strength often applies.
In close combat, the one with greater strength definitely has the advantage.
Ino's "Strength" was clearly 2 points. Women were at a disadvantage in this aspect, and she had no plans to specifically train her strength in the short term. Shikamaru's strength was slightly better than hers, but worse than Sasuke's. They should be at the level of 3 or 4 points. Choji's strength, however, was immense. He could drag a wild boar weighing several hundred kilograms with one hand. His "Strength" was definitely above 5 points, possibly even reaching 6.
Ino and Shikamaru definitely couldn't withstand Choji's strength.
Asuma pointed to the side, indicating for the two of them to step aside.
He looked at Choji. The 1.9-meter tall man facing the 1.5-meter short child, their figures seemed vastly different.
"Choji, does your kindness stem from your concern for your companions? If so, then your actions are misplaced kindness."
Asuma assumed a defensive stance. "Come, attack me! If you can land one punch on me, you pass. If...if you can't hit me within an hour, Choji, not only you, all three of you will go back to the academy! I don't need subordinates like that!"
Ino remained silent. Shikamaru seemed to have thought of something, but he held back his words.
Choji's face was extremely unsightly. He looked at his two silent companions, then at Asuma, not understanding why the seemingly kind teacher was forcing him like this.
"Quick! Attack me! For their sake, you must turn your kindness into strength!"
Choji was at a loss, his gaze constantly shifting towards Ino and Shikamaru, hoping his two smart friends could give him an idea.
He had attacked Mizuki before because he knew that Mizuki had betrayed the village and wanted to hurt Hinata, Naruto, and Ino. Now, he had no grudge against Asuma and really couldn't bring himself to attack.
Asuma's movements weren't fast. He threw punches left and right, but Choji just covered his head defensively, showing no intention of attacking.
"Sigh..." Shikamaru sighed. "It seems we have to use that method."
Ino looked at him with a strange expression.
The next second, Shikamaru shouted, "Hit him hard, you fat pig!"
Choji's eyes snapped open and he glared at Shikamaru. "What did you say?!"
Ino used her lv5 scapegoat skill: "You heard wrong, it was Asuma-sensei who said that!"
Choji turned his head, his eyes filled with anger. "Was it really you? Asuma-sensei? Unforgivable! ——!"
The enraged Choji threw a punch at Asuma, but at the last moment, he stopped, tears involuntarily streaming down his face. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry sensei, I really can't do it... If we have to go back to the academy, let me go back alone! Ino and Shikamaru are both excellent ninja, I'm holding them back!"
Choji cried his heart out. Ino scolded, "Idiot! Ino-Shika-Cho naturally advance and retreat together! If we have to go back to the academy, I'll go back with you!"
Shikamaru put his hands in his pockets and smiled. "I was just thinking being a ninja is troublesome. Going back to the academy sounds good. Thanks, Choji."
Not far away, the Third Hokage and the parents of Ino-Shika-Cho witnessed this scene.
The Third Hokage nodded secretly. Teammates advancing and retreating together was a core tenet of his Will of Fire. In his view, this was the most precious thing in the world.
The parents of the Ino-Shika-Cho were also very satisfied. The next generation being able to maintain their friendship was more important than anything else. The unbreakable alliance between the three families was more valuable than capturing a hundred Mizukis.
The Third Hokage looked in another direction. Team 7 was in complete chaos. Kakashi was using the "Thousand Years of Death" on the problem child Naruto...
In comparison, Team 10's progress had far surpassed Team 7's.
Sending Choji back to the academy was just a joke. After learning that Ino and the others had their allowances cut off at home and had to work part-time to earn money, Asuma, the bearded older youth, waved his hand. "Let's go, I'll treat you to dinner, hmm... let's go eat yakiniku!"
Choji jumped up excitedly, calling out "Asuma-sensei" with great affection.
Ino and Shikamaru were also very happy. Someone was treating them, so why hesitate? Let's eat!
On their way to "Yakiniku Q," Asuma's Team 10 encountered Kurenai Yuhi's Team 8.
Asuma and Kurenai were in a relationship and seemed quite close.
Hearing that they were going to eat yakiniku, Team 8 also joined them.
Ino, Shikamaru, Choji, Hinata, Kiba, and Shino Aburame. The same yakiniku restaurant, the same people. After a small detour, they were together again, but this time with two Jonin leaders, Asuma and Kurenai.
The two Jonin didn't hide their relationship, and the six youngsters didn't find it strange either.
Everyone connected at the dinner table, and the atmosphere was great.
Asuma suddenly patted his head and then handed Ino a scroll with the character "water" written on it. "Oh right, Ino, this is from the old man Third Hokage."
What was this? Ino wanted to put it away and look at it at home.
Asuma waved his hand. "Open it and see. If you're not satisfied, I'll go ask the old man to exchange it."
Since the Hokage's own son said so, Ino naturally wouldn't refuse. This scroll should be the reward for uncovering Mizuki's conspiracy.
She opened the scroll and carefully examined it.
It was a B-rank ninjutsu, the Water Release: Water Formation Wall technique learning scroll. Judging by the handwriting, it should be written by the Third Hokage himself.
Ino carefully observed and found that, like the Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique, this was another Water Release ninjutsu improved by the Second Hokage.
It could be performed with only two hand seals.
With strong defensive power and fast hand seal speed, the Water Formation Wall was considered a very good defensive ninjutsu.
It perfectly compensated for her weakness in defense.
This reward was better than Ino expected. It definitely had something to do with Inoichi Yamanaka and the Ino-Shika-Cho. She was very satisfied.
"Thank you, Asuma-sensei, and please thank the Third Hokage for me too."
"Ino is so polite, haha, you'll know after a while, there's no need to be so polite with me." Asuma laughed heartily and looked at Shikamaru and Choji. "You two also have rewards. Considering various factors, you each get credit for a C-rank mission. You can receive the reward for this mission at the end of the month."
The Mizuki incident was considered over. Whoever was behind him and how the village planned to deal with it had nothing to do with them. They were already ninja. No matter how much you beautified it, the essence of the ninja profession was still being a tool for killing. Don't ask what you shouldn't.
Ino had obtained another B-rank ninjutsu. She was still practicing the Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique taught by Kosuke. Now with the addition of Water Release: Water Formation Wall, even with the cheat of Shadow Clone, she still felt the learning task was arduous.
