Chapter 318: Promotion to Jounin
After careful consideration, Minato Namikaze did not go to see Naruto, only watching him from a distance a few times.
His resurrection was definitely a major event of great importance to the ninja world. This was a dead person coming back to life, the taboo of taboos. Once exposed, to curb the soaring high-end combat power of Konoha Village, the other four great hidden villages might join forces to attack Konoha.
In addition, he still had to investigate the true identity of the masked man. Considering Naruto's big mouth, once their relationship was revealed, it was possible that half a day later, all the ninjas in the village would know, and then within three days, the entire ninja world would know.
The two old foxes, Utatane Koharu and Mitokado Homura, believed he should hide his identity and serve as a trump card once the war started.
Minato Namikaze agreed to the two advisors' suggestion, choosing to hide his identity and protect his son by protecting the village from the shadows.
During his physical recovery, to enhance the village's military strength, he gathered the few ninjas who knew the Flying Thunder God technique formula for a small-scale training session.
The ones who came to participate in the training were actually just Tsunade, Kakashi, and Ino.
Shizune, as well as Genma Shiranui who had once learned the Flying Thunder God Technique, both chose to lie flat.
Minato Namikaze taught them his insights, training methods, and various experiences in using the Flying Thunder God Technique without reservation.
The effect was honestly not great.
This technique was a classic case of the mind understanding, but the body not.
Tsunade had the best physical constitution, and her learning progress was faster than both Ino's and Kakashi's. However, the old lady was passionate about gambling and drinking and had little interest in learning ninjutsu. When reminded of her granduncle Second's eager expectations, prodded by her two disciples, and with Tonton squealing a few times, she would practice a few times for show. If no one urged her, she would go gambling.
Kakashi's physical constitution and mind were both fine, and he had the Sharingan with its amazing dynamic vision. His learning progress was just a line behind Tsunade's, but his own chakra was too little, and he didn't practice enough.
Ino was relatively the worst, but Minato Namikaze also said something similar to what the Second Hokage once said.
He believed that Ino was still young; a ninja only reached their peak at the age of 25. In other words, Ino's physical constitution still had nearly 10 years of rapid growth. Once her physical constitution improved, mastering the Flying Thunder God Technique would be a matter of course. There was no need to rush now; forcing it would only cause damage to her body.
Kakashi had already reached his physical peak; there wouldn't be much growth in the future. As for Tsunade, let's not even mention her; she was a person with one foot in the grave, long past her prime. If she couldn't learn it now, she would have even less chance in the future.
The turmoil in the Sand Village finally ended in a complete mess.
Chaos! The loss of the Kazekage had thrown the village's order into disarray!
The battle between the Four-Tails and One-Tails had destroyed more than half of the Sand Village. Someone's "Dark Music Concert" had added many so-called "madmen" to the Sand Village. After many of them sobered up, they all said they had heard many ultimate truths in the dark music. What was this ultimate truth specifically? Unknown!
A few ninjas with relatively high Yin Release levels tried hard to recall. It seemed the music was using notes to tell of a wondrous process of celestial beings transforming and all things growing. As for how to reach this state, they still needed to ponder it.
For a time, the Sand Village had many more dark musicians.
In the dead of night, sitting under a crooked tree and playing the shamisen became their way of searching for the ultimate truth.
The "madmen" were a minor issue. The ninja clans of the Sand Village took the opportunity to seize numerous benefits. Many positions originally held by commoner ninjas were taken over by the Elder Council under various pretexts. This was the major problem.
In fact, Gaara's act of using a sand shield to help the villagers and ninjas resist the Tailed Beast Bomb had earned him the recognition of many people. But unfortunately, these commoners and commoner ninjas had no say. Temari and Kankuro, who previously had some say, were suppressed, and their lives were also very difficult.
Chiyo was missing, Ebizō was missing, Baki was injured, Yūra's intentions were unpredictable, and the supporters of the Kazekage's faction suffered heavy losses in the chaotic battle. The ninja clans that hadn't participated in the battle at all became the victors.
The current peace was only temporary; something was bound to happen in the Sand Village again.
Konoha Village was also making various preparations.
One of them was Ino's promotion to Jounin.
Her Jounin promotion order was signed by Minato Namikaze in his capacity as the Fourth Hokage. It had Minato's signature and the Fourth Hokage's seal, but no issue date, nor did it state the reason for the promotion.
Jiraiya knew the inside story. Utatane Koharu and Mitokado Homura also roughly knew the process. This was to reward her for her merits, for "saving" the Fourth Hokage.
The two advisors certainly had many selfish intentions, but they shared weal and woe with Konoha. Now that Konoha had an additional powerful Fourth Hokage, it was also a good thing for them.
They had no objection to the Fourth Hokage using his own reputation to guarantee Ino's promotion to Jounin.
The procedures for a normal Chunin to be promoted to Jounin were extremely cumbersome. An insufficient number of missions was not acceptable, the majority of the Jounin Squad disagreeing was not acceptable, and not having a recommendation from a famous ninja clan was not acceptable. This was also the reason why Genma Shiranui was stuck at the hurdle of Tokubetsu Jōnin and could not be promoted to Jounin.
Now, with the personal recommendation of the Fourth Hokage, none of these were problems.
The promotion order went from Jiraiya to Utatane Koharu, then to Mitokado Homura, and finally got stuck for a bit at Shimura Danzo's desk.
"I don't quite understand how this promotion order involves the Fourth Hokage," Danzo said, bewildered at the advisory council meeting.
Actually, he didn't oppose Ino's promotion to Jounin. The Yamanaka clan, to this day, was still a ninja clan that supported him. Ino was a true-blue member of the Ino-Shika-Cho trio, now strong, and a staunch supporter of the Hokage's faction. He wouldn't make things difficult, but wasn't this promotion order a bit fake?
Danzo counted on his fingers for a long time. When the Fourth Hokage died, was Ino even two months old? The Fourth saw her Jounin potential at that time? Excuse me, how did he see it? Was she born glowing with golden light, or was someone in the forest calling her name?
He felt there must be an inside story he didn't know, guessing it was Jiraiya's doing, or that the Yamanaka clan had some secret deal with the Fourth Hokage back then, so they produced something like a "posthumous edict."
He had objections, but the Fourth Hokage's signature was genuine.
Procedurally speaking, as a village advisor, he really couldn't say much about the Kage of a village wanting to promote a Jounin. The procedure was the procedure; this was the Hokage's power. At most, he could raise an objection, but there was no possibility of actually blocking it.
The village's top brass passed it smoothly. The Jounin Squad went through the motions. Ino took her ninja registration card, re-registered, changed her information, and after a lot of fuss, she was officially promoted to Jounin.
