Chapter 234: Travel Through Time

Route 6 was completed in 1925, connecting Provincetown, Massachusetts, with Brewster, New York.

Later, people referred to this interstate highway as the "Roosevelt Highway."

In 1931, it was extended to Greeley, Colorado, then south to Long Beach, and west to Bishop, California.

In 1986, it was funded by the Barmulodi Group to connect the Metropolis to the third-longest road in the world.

Today.

Starting from New Jersey, with the Metropolis as the departure point.

The sun in the sky, like a golden ball radiating dazzling light, scorched the earth. The dark asphalt shimmered under the sunlight, distorting the air with its heat.

On both sides of the road stretched rolling hills covered with withered vegetation.

This was already the suburban highway of Metropolis, and in the distance, it connected to Route 6, the road that crossed the continent.

A black speck flew from the sky in the distance. With the sound of a sonic boom, it turned sharply and descended.

Bardi, dressed in white, descended like a god, holding the Flash in his hand, hovering briefly before landing on a section of the highway.

He gazed into the distance. The scorching wind blew sand and dust into small tornadoes that swirled and dissipated, fluttering his long, solemn trench coat.

There were few vehicles visible far down the road. Only a few scattered cars appeared every dozens of kilometers. It was the perfect place to run.

"From here, I don't want any surprises."

As Bardi spoke, he finally made up his mind to rescue Jenny first.

He wasn't sure if this Flash had escaped from Flashpoint, if it was merely a replacement consciousness, or if the entire body had come through and was now being erased by time.

There were several possibilities. Any of them could be true, and this uncertainty made Bardi deeply uneasy.

The Flash running around uncontrollably posed immense danger.

Randomness could change everything. All the efforts Bardi had made, and all the plans he had put into motion, could be rendered meaningless by the whims of time.

Even though he couldn't predict what would happen, he still chose to proceed with his original plan.

Bardi glanced coldly at the Flash. After this matter, no matter what, the Flash must die.

The Flash's steel prosthetic legs stepped onto the ground, connected to his motor nerves, allowing him to move unhindered, though they were not flesh and blood, and the difference felt uncomfortable.

The road's asphalt was uneven and gritty, heated by the scorching sun, but the Flash's prosthetic legs couldn't feel any of it.

Looking down sadly at his legs, the Flash said coldly, "I'm not sure if it's possible. Although the metal prosthetics are structurally stable, they can't support the high-speed, repeated movement of the Speed Force."

"I will fly and move with you. Plus, the large amount of Speed Force stored in your mechanical prosthetic legs will be enough to consume and traverse," Bardi said, placing his hand on the Flash's shoulder as a signal to begin.

The Flash nodded silently, feeling Bardi's hand like an iron clamp gripping his shoulder, the strength sinking deep into the bone.

Without a word, the Flash squatted down into a starting position.

The arc of the Speed Force began to flicker from his hands, smashing and scattering gravel around him.

In an instant, the arc spread from the Flash's hands, enveloped his body, and then transferred to Bardi through the contact on his shoulder. Together, they were both fully shrouded in the yellow lightning.

It was as if they were standing in a barren world when suddenly a wild yellow thunder exploded, causing the surroundings to tremble violently.

Bardi could clearly feel the Speed Force enveloping his entire body, a continuous ultra-high-speed vibration wrapping around him, infiltrating his skin, connecting to the magnetic field within his body.

"Here we go!"

The Flash said coldly, glancing briefly at Bardi with hatred flashing in his eyes before turning his gaze forward, clenching his teeth tightly.

Bardi responded with a nasal "Mm."

Suddenly.

The scorching, barren world was torn apart like plastic wrap.

A massive sonic boom erupted at the scene, and the turbulent air folded into waves, squeezing and producing a huge shrieking sound.

The two disappeared instantly.

The straight road ahead split the surrounding air to either side like a sharp blade cutting through the ocean.

Charred arcs of lightning remained on the ground.

In an instant, Bardi squeezed every magnetic field from his cells with all his strength. The solar energy he had absorbed, combined with the enveloping arcs of lightning, surged forward along with the Flash, instantly piercing the atmosphere.

The scenery on both sides blurred and quickly disappeared.

In the next moment, Bardi and the Flash had already left New Jersey. On the deserted road, there was a flash of light on both sides. A man standing there looked confused for a moment, thinking he was seeing things when he saw the lightning.

The next moment, he was violently blown away by the oncoming shockwave, slammed onto the roof of an RV, and the RV flipped over several times in terror.

"He's not going to die," Bardi said, noticing the Flash's slight hesitation out of concern for the passerby.

It was true he would not die, but it was highly likely that he would spend the rest of his life bedridden.

Ordinary people could not withstand a supersonic sonic boom at such close range without severe consequences.

The Flash was clearly aware of this too. To avoid encountering anyone else again,

He accelerated once more.

The Speed Force surged again, almost exceeding the limit of Bardi's flight.

Bardi's eyes twitched. He had nearly reached his limit, but the divine Speed Force kept rising. Even with his powerful body flying at super-high speed and his super-vision, the surrounding scenery had started to blur into streaks of color.

"Ah…"

The Flash gritted his teeth and howled. The metal prosthetic legs suddenly burst forth with the Speed Force that had been stored within them, a torrent of arcs surging like thousands of serpents, climbing across the bodies of both the Flash and Bardi.

The prosthetic limbs at the thighs, calves, and other points began to crumble inch by inch. Although made of the most stable atomic-synthesized red mechanical metal, they still couldn't withstand the high-frequency vibration of the Speed Force. They burned red and disintegrated.

Even the deepest mechanical bones began vibrating at destructive atomic frequencies, starting to vaporize.

The next moment, with a 'pop,' the metal prosthetics completely vaporized and disappeared.

A whirlpool suddenly appeared in front of them. Bardi, clutching the Flash from behind with a pained expression, rushed into the time-space continuum together.
