We get a side-quest.

We reached a relatively empty car park. It had several floors and open sides.

Annabeth, wise as her mother's divinity apparently dictated, had the idea of me crating thin water vapor from a bottle of water to call camp. Under normal circumstances it wouldn't have worked, not because it was impossible but because I didn't have enough experience or at least that would have been the case if I hadn't just had a extremely long nightmare where I had eventually reawakened my bloodline, even as a murder bunny, and learned how to do a lot of things.

The water vapor was easily created and then Annabeth tossed a coin into the rainbow we had created using the sun light and water, to call camp.

We had to wait a few seconds, seconds that I used to begin acting like I was straining to focus while mentally reciting swear words my family and I had learned during said nightmare.

Soon Luke appeared, talking to Annabeth.

"By the way, Percy. Why didn't you wait a little longer. I had something I wanted to give to you."

"See, I told you when should have waited. Luke even had something that would have made the quest easier."

I continued to act, visibly grinding my teeth as I made the call waver, only slightly but enough to show that I had to "focus".

"Luke, we managed to get to St. Louis, we're almost halfway there. Could you tell Chiron that I think I know who the thief is, Luke? Also, do tell everyone that we're fine and healthy."

Annabeth continued on and on for a few minutes and even Luke began to show impatience. She was talking to much.

"Yeah, I love you too Annabeth, but I really have to go now. I think Connor got stomped on by a Pegasus."

And with that, he finally cut of the call. I stopped controlling the vapor and laid down for a few minutes, pretending to be exhausted.

"So, Percy. How will we get to Santa Monica? We don't have any transportation right now and I doubt we will get there by foot without running out of time." Grover asked. I answered with a small, mischievous grin.

"I saw a car two floors down. We could steal it and make our way towards LA. How ever we don't have any actual money so will won't be able to refuel."

"Then let's do just that."

Annabeth agreed.

We made our way down and saw a white Prius there. I used some hidden demonic magic, it wasn't really useful for most things but did exell at anything related to crimes and sins, to unlock the car without damaging it.

Then we got in. Grover and Annabeth were at first a bit worried and wondered how someone could forget to lock their car, but I responded with:" Are you serious. Just look at this car. No one in their right mind would willingly steal a Prius. People would sooner steal your shoes than going for a Prius."

"Then why should we steal this one if no one would?" Annabeth asked. Curiosity written on her face.

"Because we're already inside and we were lucky enough that it wasn't locked so sit back, put on your seat belts and enjoy the ride." I said as I short circuited the car, making the engine purr and stepped on the gas pedal.

I took charge of deciding the music, comfortably settling for a Chanel playing rock and pop music.

At some point during the ride Lady Gagas Pokerface began to play and as Grover and Annabeth began to enthusiastically sing along, I suspected that either Annabeth had merpeople in her Ancestry, since her voice was about as painful and disturbing as seeing a deer bite of a humans head before using the decapitated body as a fleshlight.

I swear I saw the windows of the car shake, only a few notes away from shattering. WTF.

Grover was better at it, I fact he was so good, that I barely noticed Annabeth voice while they were singing together. But God have mercy if Grover forgot even one word of those lyrics.

The fuel soon ran dry, with me being utterly exhausted, more than I was supposed to since I hadn't actually done anything tiresome, except maybe fight and later on sneakingly kill a Goddess.

Onyx had already returned to me during our ride. Neither of the two in the back had noticed.

We came across a small rest area with three buildings, one of them a gas station, another a Mc Donald's and the last a small public restroom. Not that the later was in use since most just visited the Fastfood restaurant and used their facilities.

Since our engine was already running on fumes and we didn't have enough money to refuel, even though that was just a lie on my part, we decided to go into the restaurant to buy something small to eat and then "figure out" where to go from there.

Not that there was much time we actually did that since practically as soon as the door behind us closed, the revving of a loud engine was heard.

Ares had arrived and right on time at that.

As soon as he entered he basically ordered us to take a seat in one of the free places, asked for an unholy amount of food, especially considering that it was fast food.

"So, you're the old barnacle-beardeds son. I have to admit, your not much to look at." He said, showing a hint of discontent on his lips, "Though i guess I shouldn't judge, considering what you did to Echidna just a few hours ago. That was... well not really praise worthy since I can do that in my sleep, but still....you suck at it." here I had noticed something intriguing, even though he didn't change much, his posture did. At first it had been relaxed, like he was just having a nice chat, but at the last part, he had slightly flinched, his posture had taken on a hesitant hint followed by one that still remained. One that spoke of dominance and something barely hidden, like he was fighting something but losing.

"And you must be my sister's daughter. Admittedly you haven't done as much as that wet towel but atleast you managed to hide away from those monsters in the Arch." he said, a glow behind his black tinted shades intensifying. Anger and rage, two emotions that I hadn't felt as often as I probably should have since I woke up in this world, began to grow. But they were negligible.

Then he turned to Grover,"...our resident satyr that somehow had managed to show of more combat abilities than that one." he said, throwing another intense gaze as Annabeth.

The three of us keep silent. I didn't know why the other two did it but I had a strange feeling around Ares. I felt like I was about to vomit, like I was staring at a puzzle made out of pieces that simply did not fit together but we're still forced to. There was something off, besides the point of him being currently under Kronos influence.

"I have a quest for you three. There is an amusement park a few minutes west from here. It was made for demigods and the semi-Divine so the mortals don't see or know about it. I lost something in there and I need you to retrieve it. In return I will give you a ride to Las Vegas. How does that sound? Don't bother answering, your going to do that anyway, or I will turn you into squirrels and violently transform you into roadkill."
