CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR

Cael's POV

Cael stood on his balcony, staring up at the moon, hands gripping the railing so tight his knuckles went white. The night air was cool, crisp, yet it did nothing to soothe the storm raging inside him.

He had done the right thing.

Pushing Elisa away had been the right thing to do.

Hell, he didn't even push her away, she had left herself, whist was he to do, force her to stay?

Her saw the look in her eyes, it was a look he was used to, she has finally seen him for what he was, for what he truly was—a monster.

He exhaled sharply, forcing the thought away. It was better this way. Better that she learned the truth now rather than later when she has gotten too attached to him, atleast now the illusion shattered on its own.

But as he stood there, trying to convince himself, his mind betrayed him, replaying the moment she had looked at him in the courtyard like….like he had broken something inside her.
