CHAPTER SEVENTY-NINE

Cael entered his office with a heavy breath, the door clicking shut behind him. The room was quiet but filled with the low buzz of tension. Around the large stone conference table, Mary, Jonathan, Liam, Susan, and Jason sat waiting, all with varying degrees of curiosity and concern etched into their expressions.

No one spoke as he approached, only the distant ticking of the antique wall clock filled the silence.

As he took his seat at the head of the table, he gave them a small nod of acknowledgment. "I know you've all been waiting. Sorry for the delay."

Liam leaned forward, his fingers drumming lightly on the table. "Can we get straight to the point, Alpha? We're all itching to know what's going on."

"Apologies for keeping you waiting," Cael said, pulling out his chair at the head of the table and sitting down. "I know everyone's itching for answers, so let's not waste time."
