Chapter 9: Confrontations and Kidnapping
Sophie's determination led her to Mr. Jenkins' doorstep. She confronted him about her findings, but Mr. Jenkins' expression remained eerily calm.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Mr. Jenkins said, his voice dripping with innocence.
Sophie's instincts screamed that he was lying, but she couldn't prove it.
Meanwhile, Emily tried to communicate with The Shadow. She approached the entity, hoping to find answers.
"Why are you stalking me?" Emily asked, her voice trembling.
But The Shadow refused to respond. It simply watched Emily, its presence growing more menacing.
That night, Emily's unease turned to terror. She went to bed, but sleep eluded her. Suddenly, she heard footsteps outside her room.
Before she could react, Emily's bedroom door burst open. Masked figures stormed in, grabbing her and dragging her out of the house.
Emily's screams were muffled as the figures threw her into a waiting van. The last thing she saw was The Shadow watching from the shadows, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly light.
The van sped away, leaving Emily's fate uncertain.
