Chapter 4: “Behind the Scene”

As Gavin and Olivia walked away from the protest, they couldn't help but discuss the issue further. Gavin was passionate about environmental activism, and Olivia was impressed by his conviction.

"I had no idea the university was planning to cut funding for environmental programs," Olivia said, her eyes wide with concern.

Gavin nodded grimly. "Yeah, it's been a big controversy on campus. But we're not going to let it happen without a fight."

Olivia smiled, feeling a sense of admiration for Gavin's determination. "I'm with you," she said. "What can I do to help?"

Gavin's face lit up with a smile. "I'll send you some information about the environmental club. We could always use more members."

As they exchanged numbers, Olivia felt a sense of excitement. She had never been involved in activism before, but Gavin's passion was infectious.

But little did Olivia know, Gavin's involvement in the environmental club was not without its risks. There were those who opposed his activism, and they would stop at nothing to silence him.

As they walked across campus, Gavin pointed out various landmarks and buildings. Olivia listened intently, fascinated by the history and architecture of the university.

But despite the beauty of their surroundings, Olivia couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. She glanced around, noticing a group of guys watching them from across the quad.

One of them, a tall, muscular guy with a menacing scowl, caught her eye. He seemed to be glaring at Gavin, his eyes flashing with anger.

Olivia felt a shiver run down her spine as she realized that Gavin was in trouble. But she had no idea what was about to unfold...

As they approached the student union building, Gavin's phone buzzed. He glanced down, his eyes narrowing as he read the message.

"What's wrong?" Olivia asked, noticing the concern etched on Gavin's face.

Gavin hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "It's just a message from one of my friends," he said finally. "He's warning me about some potential backlash from the protest."

Olivia's eyes widened in alarm. "Backlash? What kind of backlash?"

Gavin shrugged. "I'm not sure. But I'll be fine. Don't worry about it."

Olivia nodded, trying to reassure herself. But she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.

As they entered the student union building, Olivia was struck by the bustling atmosphere. Students milled about, chatting and laughing with friends.

Gavin led her to a table in the corner, where a group of students were gathered. They were all chatting and laughing, but they fell silent as Gavin approached.

"Hey, guys," Gavin said, smiling. "This is Olivia. She's interested in joining the environmental club."

The students nodded in greeting, but Olivia couldn't help but notice the tension in the air. It was as if they were all waiting for something to happen.

As they sat down, Olivia felt a sense of unease. She had no idea what she had gotten herself into...

One of the students, a girl with bright pink hair, spoke up. "So, Olivia, what makes you interested in environmental activism?"

Olivia hesitated, unsure of how to respond. But Gavin jumped in, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.

"Olivia's passionate about making a difference," he said. "And we could always use more people like her in the club."

The students nodded in agreement, and Olivia felt a sense of gratitude towards Gavin. He seemed to have a way of making her feel at ease.

But as they continued to chat, Olivia couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. She glanced around the table, noticing that the students seemed to be watching her with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion.

What was going on? And why did Olivia feel like she was in the middle of something much bigger than herself?

As they finished up their meeting, Gavin walked Olivia out of the student union building. The sun was setting over the campus, casting a warm orange glow over the buildings.

"Thanks for coming to the meeting," Gavin said, smiling. "I think you'll really enjoy the club."

Olivia nodded, feeling a sense of excitement. "I'm looking forward to it," she said.

Gavin's eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. "I'm glad to hear that," he said. "We're going to do great things this semester."

As they stood there, Olivia felt a sense of connection with Gavin. It was as if they shared a secret, something that no one else understood.

But little did Olivia know, their connection was only the beginning. There were forces at work, forces that would stop at nothing to tear them apart.
