In the world called Archia, where everyone can use magic. There are two empires and three kingdoms. Each one of them is said to be protected by spirits.
In Archia, people get magical powers by making a pact with a spirit in the forest of tree of life.
Cassandra Von Bonbourte is the eldest daughter of the Bonbourte royal family of Galendale. The kingdom overseen by the air spirits, Sylphs. She is the only one in the whole kingdom who can't use magic.
When she was seven years old, she was taken to the forest of life to make a pact with a spirit. Everybody believed she would manage to attract the attention of a strong Sylph like any other person in the royal family but to everyone's surprise, all of the spirits avoided her.
When her family saw this, their tender affection immediately turned into utter disgust.
Since then, she became a disgrace on the royal family's name. Everybody considered her as bad luck and avoided her as much as possible including her parents.
They sent her off on a deserted palace far away from the actual main palace.
Just a few months ago, even when the celebration for the second princess, Gloria, her twin was happening in her debutante ceremony where every nobles and even commoners were invited.
She was the only one left out.
Nevertheless, she still showed up at the ball thinking it's her one and only sister's debutante ball. She couldn't miss it no matter the cost.
( She forgot its her debutante too.)
When everyone saw her at the ball, they sneered and belittled her calling her ragged beggar, tramp and such.
She wimper thinking this was the best dress she owned. She looked at the people around her who were whispering & gossiping while looking at her then she looked at her parents sitting on their golden thrones angrily looking at her.
She shrunk a bit.
Although she was afraid of her parents, she still extended her sister a present, a pink ballerina music box which her mother gave her when she was six years old.
It was the only valuable thing which she had saved just for that day.
When people saw that old, scrapped toy they started gossiping even more.
The king finally couldn't take it anymore and ordered the soldiers to chase her out. The soldiers hesitated first but they didn't dare to defy their king so, they used their magic, the gust of wind stormed out of their hand, blowing her away and out of the ballroom door then closed the door.
She rolled down the stairs and finally fell on the cold, hard floor, banging her head. She painfully sit up and looked at the toy in her hand which was broken by that gust of wind.
Tears streamed down her face as she looked at the closed door in front of her.
All the maids and servants around her didn't even bother to come to her to console her, ignoring her completely.
She sat there and cried some more minutes then woke up and head towards that far and lonely palace where she reside, still clutching that toy of hers.
