He attentively blinked at her which made her realise what she had just done. " Where did your nobility go, you idiot!!! " She cursed herself.
" Umm !!! I-l mean Your Highness !! Would you like to sit ? You've been standing for so long." She tried to correct herself.
A sense of disappointment flickered in his eyes and he replied " ohh!! umm!! yeah!! I !! Thank you !!"
"What is there to thank me about ? This is your own home." She thought but didn't say it.
Aspen sat at the edge of the bed and looked at her shyly.
Cassy sat on the other side of the bed and spoke " Your Highness, let's talk !!! "
Aspen flinched and instantly started sobbing thinking he might've done something wrong by how serious Cassy sounded.
Cassy facepalmed herself as she couldn't understand why this man keeps on crying then proceed to make him stop.
After spending good few minutes on being a nanny ( which she didn't ask for ) they finally got into the mood for talking.
To Aspen's surprise, Cassy actually asked him about himself and they talked about each other's like and dislikes, favourite food, favourite colour and such. As Cassy wanted to get to know eachother well since they might have to spend their whole life together and Aspen also became quite eager to know about his soon to be wifey.
Through this talk, Cassy also found out that Aspen is also a cursed one just like her. As she is cursed to not be able to use her own overflowing mana, Aspen is cursed to have a bloated body at the cost of being able to use mana.
This talk made Cassy realise that she isn't the only one who is suffering because of their super high powered mana and she's about to marry someone who shares the same pain with her.
She felt relieved thinking she don't have to endure everything alone now, there will be someone who can share her burden and, she gave a wide but bitter smile.
" What's wrong, wifey ???" A gentle voice brought back her senses and she looked at him, his amethyst puppy dog eyes were staring at her with concerns.
She shake her head and said " nothing, just some old memories."
" In your memories, did someone bullied you?? Did they hurt you anywhere ? Just tell me, I'll take care of them." Aspen clenched his chubby hands before his chest and made a pouty but determined look.
Aspen knew how life is like for people born with overpowering mana, they often get isolated as people fear them and treat them as some monsters.
Even though, people ridiculed him due to his appearance, his family loved him dearly and always looked for the solution for his problem but it is completely different when it comes to Cassy, when she was considered defect by everyone, her family were the first one to abandon her. They made her go through many hardships. "So, as her husband, I must protect her at all cost."is what he thought when he said that.
( He thinks they are already married coz he chugged down a whole bottle of delulu soda.)
Her eyes were wide open as she didn't expected someone to say they will protect her. All her life, she was on her own and to think, it would come out of the mouth of a person she just met, especially someone who looks like a puppy material.
She let out a soft chuckle and patted his head.
They both froze.
Cassy : ( ( (; ꏿ_ ꏿ ;) ) )

Cassy screamed internally (again) " WHAT IS YOUR FREAKING PROBLEM, HUH!!! HOW CAN YOU TREAT THE CROWN PRINCE OF A EMPIRE WHICH IS 10 NO! 30 TIMES BIGGER THAN YOURS ??? ARE YOU LOOKING FOR WAYS TO GET KILLED OR WHAT ???"
Cassy gulped and looked at him nervously and tried to explain " umm!!..... you see its....
umm!..... old habit... of mine..... to-to.....pat things that are...ca-cute... Haha-ha!!!.... I hope..... you...umm!!.... for... give..... me."
She was expecting some punishment or at least some scolding BUT is she seeing things now or has his already plumpy red cheeks gotten even redder now along with his ears.
She was stunned as her soon-to-be-husband while fidgeting his fingers, rosy blush on his big, round cheeks then averted his eyes away.
This look of his reminded her of something, something 'familiar'.
