The Heavenly Dao System

When Ye Ming read the design system-like prompt, his eyes nearly widened in shock.

"Is this what they call the system cheat?" He rubbed his chin.

A system genre novel wasn't unfamiliar to him, but somehow this kind of system appeared to be different.

Rather than being the slave of a system or master of a system, this system appeared to be his creation.

There were numerous features in the system, but most of them were grayed out.

And no, it wasn't that he was required to complete some dumb mission such as failure to complete this resulted in death or something equivalent. Rather, they were grayed out because his cultivation realm wasn't inadequate to handle the power yet.

While Ye Ming was confused by the appearance of the cliche system, the soul that had been assimilated returned to his body.

A few minutes later, he finally understood what was going on.

As the son of Ye Xuan and Ye Qing Lei, he naturally held a big responsibility such as managing some worlds to ensure there was no destruction of the world possible.

From there, Ye Ming was quite clever and created this Heavenly Dao System that helped manage lots of the lower world for him. Additionally, the spiritual qi gathered in that specific world could then be transferred back to him for his own cultivation.

Since Heavenly Dao was an intangible thing and supposedly neutral, the truth was that he could control them.

Think of the Heavenly Dao as a video game controller on a console. The video game controller could control any games that were placed on the console to play. However, it was the player who manually controlled the video game controller to play.

In other words, if left dormant, the Heavenly Dao wouldn't do anything to interfere with the world itself unless controlled and managed by the player.

Of course, special circumstances in which the Heavenly Dao would play an active role were if the world itself was on the brink of collapse, but the player remained idle.

"Oh dear, now I realize why the protagonists in those stories are constantly talking about splitting the sky and going against the Heavenly Dao." Ye Ming became enlightened.

To simplify his enlightenment, the protagonists in those stories were game characters— one who realized they were in the game and wished to break the shackles to become an actual person.

It was very complicated to process them in general, but thankfully, Ye Ming had received his memories back. However, that didn't mean his personality was altered.

What he experienced on Earth was real and his current self was the present Ye Ming. His past self-thought process and memories were still a part of him, but they were no longer prioritized.

Just like how a child would grow up to teen and then adult, their belief and thinking would also alter as they continued to grow. What they were as children was still them, but it doesn't define who they were at present.

Shortly after understanding, Ye Ming felt his consciousness being dragged away.

By the time he saw a glimpse of light, he had returned to his room, being stared at by a few people, notably Qing Lan, and his parents.

"How long have I been out cold?" Ye Ming asked softly.

"Eh, 3 seconds?" His maid, Qing Lan, quickly answered even if she didn't understand why he asked. Only 3 seconds had passed since Ye Ming's eyes were closed.

"I see…" Nodding, Ye Ming wasn't surprised that the time spent on his consciousness differed from the current world.

"Do you finally remember everything, son?" Ye Qing Lei suddenly asked, her expression clearly showed how difficult she was restraining herself from losing her emotion. As a Beyond Origin Realm cultivator, there was possibly only one person in this world who could cause her to have her emotions constantly fluctuate.

Simultaneously, Ye Ming also realized why all the tribulation memories that he regained never had him born with loving parents. In fact, most of the tribulations were him being an orphan, completely devoid of mother and father.

Although his action was selfish, his past self was still very filial and refused to acknowledge anyone as his parents aside from Ye Xuan and Ye Qing Lei. That was the only thing his past self manipulated.

"Yes, Mother and I'm sorry for taking this long to return." Ye Ming smiled bitterly and apologized.

With everything connected, he finally realized why he felt such a motherly warmth emitting from Ye Qing Lei. His memories might have been lost previously, but his very soul remembered her dearly.

It was similar to how patients lost their memories, but their natural instincts and behavior wouldn't change as they remembered even if the brain didn't.

Shortly after the acknowledgement, his mother, Ye Qing Lei ordered a complete healing session.

First, his body underwent multiple checkups. Once his condition was declared healthy, he was then guided to another place. As for his father, Ye Xuan— apparently he got chided and reprimanded harshly by his mother's maids on her behalf.

In the end, his father ended up being sidecasted and ignored.

"Son, this is the Dragon Cleansing Pool. Do you want maids to attend to you as well?" Ye Qing Lei introduced.

The place was really spacious for something that was merely a bath in Ye Ming's eyes.

"Is this whole place just for the Dragon Cleansing Pool alone?" Ye Ming asked.

"Hmm, of course. This place was blessed by an actual dragon so this much space is required to contain the essence." Ye Qing Lei answered and asked, "Are your memories still a bit fuzzy?"

"Yeah, I've remembered most of the important things." He replied. Memories were a tricky part that involved the brain. Significant events were easy to recall, but trivial events or something one seen day-to-day, might not be able to recall easily when asked on the spot.

"I see, but there's no rush. Anyway, how many maids do you want to attend your cleansing session?" Ye Qing Lei clasped her hands.

"Attend to me?" Startled, Ye Ming's mind quickly went to the rated 18 or 21 age area. 'Surely, it can't be one of those dreams that many men want it to happen, right?'

"Of course, these maids would be handling any abnormality and assist you in the cleansing process to be smooth. If you want, your mother can also do it." She explained and quickly dispelled the naughty thought.

The so-called attending was just to prevent any mishaps from occurring.

"No thanks, just have Qing Lan stay then." He declared. The truth was that he was still rather uncomfortable with Ye Qing Lei's presence. Despite knowing she was his mother, her aura and presence were just too overwhelming.

"Eh, that was quick. The higher the cultivation the better, but Qing Lan is only at the 4th rank of Cosmic Immortal Realm." Ye Qing Lei commented, clearly not in agreement with the selection choice.

'Only at the 4th rank??!' Alarmed, Ye Ming nearly wanted to cry aloud.

The Cosmic Immortal Realm was a cultivation realm ranking in the Celestial World.

Just how overpowered were his maids— actually no, weak were his maids to be dissed that terribly by his mother?

It was no wonder his previous self became so depressed and disappointed!

If even someone with the cultivation realm in the ranking of the Celestial World was considered weak. Then what was he at the ranking of the Higher World?

Worse than weak would be equivalent to trash!

Or maybe, even worse than trash!

Also, the Dragon Cleansing Pool was created by an actual dragon? This particular information had completely gone over his head.

"What was I doing on Earth?" Ye Ming smiled bitterly.
