Boom!
The biggest beast which was as large as the mansion pummeled re the barrier which made it to flicker as if it was about to be put out.
Hero's eyes narrowed. He stared at Hutchinson for a while and then he thought about Tracy. Truly, Hero wouldn't have liked to pit himself against the beasts but he had to do this for Tracy. Even if he died afterwards, he would have died for a better cause.
After all, Hero had already decided to do this since he saw the beast, it was just that he didn't expect Hutchinson to have such a view about him.
"I need to think of a plan. I can't just budge into their midst unprepared." Hero murmured to himself. He walked down the stairs and approached the barrier. He could see the beasts on the other side and because it was drizzling, his hair became wet quickly until it stuck on his face but Hero was cold, not because of the beasts before him but because of what the geezers thought about him.
"So, I have bad luck? I didn't knew this, but is this really true?" Hero thought about his life since he was a child. He was born in a poor family, both his father and mother abandoned him, his friends used to beat him and make fun of him, his father used to disappear from home for a while which forced him to move around the dustbins in search of left over foods, he was harassed, blackmaileD by his friends, forced into drug abuse and many more problems, but Hero had never complained... It was just on this day that he was told that he carried bad luck around him.
"I am sorry son." Hero heard the weak voice beside him and in the next moment, he was pushed from the protective circle of the barrier.
Hero quickly turned around and saw the smiling face of old man Hutchinson. Hero couldn't believe that it was the old man that pushed him from the protection of the barrier, but how did the old man appear beside him without him knowing?
While he was still sprawled on the floor, Hero took a last glance at old man Hutchinson.
"Your bad luck brought this upon us, so fix this." Hutchinson said with a smile before he walked towards the mansion.
Hero was furious but he couldn't do anything to Hutchinson. After all, anything could come out of the barrier but the barrier could not allow anything to go in, Hero knew this very well and that was why he didn't try to pass through it.
The drizzle continued to pour down and it was accompanied by a weak breeze of cold wind. However, Hero found himself in the midst of the beasts which had refused to run away like the others. When Hero turned behind him, he could already see one of the beast running towards him with its mouth wide open.
He could see that this beast just like the others, it had very long legs, a small tummy and a big head. Hero was not given time to see the other features of the beast because the beast was already in the attacking range.
"I have to move!" Gritting his teeth, Hero forced himself up and quickly jumped sideways thus evading the slimy tongue of the beast. The ground was muddy which was making it hard for him to move around and Hero could see the other beasts had been alerted. If he couldn't kill the beast in front of him quickly, he would be surrounded with no way of escaping.
"The warehouse!" Suddenly, Hero thought of something and he didn't dare to waste time.
One should know that the barrier only covered the mansion and the warehouse was left out.
Since he was little, Hero was taught how to jump from one building to the other and jumping through the windows and therefore, the beast before him find it hard to get a hold of him.
However, this beast was merely a low level beast, what Hero was worried about was the bigger beast behind them. This beast had not acted and its eyes were still fixed upon the barrier that covered old man Hutchinson's house.
"I will need to attract the attention of the bigger beast but before that, I need a weapon."
While Hero was struggling, Hutchinson's silhouette could be seen on the large window of the living room. He was watching Hero carefully.
