WELCOME TO EMERY.
As soon as she saw the huge signboard, Chloe's mood was lifted up. Finally, she had reached her destination after a long two and a half hour's flight.
Standing at the airport, she looked around.
It was her first visit to Emery. Earlier, though Jessica asked her so many times to visit once, she couldn't get a chance to come here.
How the destiny plays, right!
Just one month ago, she couldn't take out a short vacation to come here; and now, she was standing at the airport, looking for a new start!
The airport was bigger than the one in her hometown. It was crowded aglt this moment. The charts showed a lot of flights details, and people were rushing here nad there following the chart board and the announcements.
There were some malls crowded with people, shopping products of various internationay famous brands.
The lounge was filled with people, sitting relaxed and talking to each other. There were some restaurants also, the chefs and attendants continuously working to meet the customers orders.
The perfect display of the picture of a business city's busy international airport on a mid week day.
Certainly, Emery was home for quite a few big industries and large scale businesses. It was one of the largest cities in the country with a dense population. The expenses of this town was also quite higher compared to the other cities around. And all these altogether contributed to the growth and development of the city's infrastructure and facilities.
She looked at her wrist watch. The interview was scheduled in the second half, there was still time. She dragged her trolly outside of the airport.
There stood a row of vehicles, waiting for their passengers. She booked a cab to the city. The main city was about half an hour's drive. She boarded on the cab, first she would go to a resturant for lunch, then head towards the office.
The car started moving, she took out her mobile from the handbag and dialed Jessica's number. Today, she wanted to take a half day's leave, but her office didn't allow — there was an important project to be finalised, and all the employee's plea was rejected.
"Jessi, I've reached."
"Really! That's great. Where are you now?"
"Going to a resturant for lunch, then I'll go to the office."
"Fine. If you want yo have lunch, go to the Royal Heights. It's actually good. Try the lasagna, it's the best."
"Okay!"
"Hmm, well.. call me when your interview is over. I'll pick you up, okay?"
"Sure."
"Okay, bye!"
"Bye."
She hung up the call, then addressed the driver.
"Drive to Royal Heights."
.....
After about twenty minutes, the car stopped.
"Madam, we've arrived at your location."
Chloe looked out from the window. In front of her, the huge building of the Royal Heights appeared on the opposite side of the road. She got off the car and after paying the fare, went ahead.
She heard from Jessica about this hotel many times. It was one of the best hotels in Emery. The luxurious interior and the food — she couldn't remember how many times Jessica praised about it.
She took a good olook of the hotel. It was built in the old Parisian style buildings. The building was white in color, with huge glass doors. There stood two door attendant, dressed in white uniforms. As she stood in front of the door, one of them opened the door, smiling.
"Welcome to the Royal Heights, mam."
Chloe stepped inside the hotel. Well, Jessica was not wrong at all! The moment she entered, the smell of delicious foods hit her nose. At the reception, she booked a table for her; a waiter showed her way.
The interior was elegant — it exuded the aura of luxury. Like the exterior, the interior was also designed in the Parisian style, making it look royal. The neatly organised tables were full with people, eatinga and talking in a very low tone.
The sound of plates and spoons, the clinking of glasses and the humming of people combined with a light music of a piano created a relaxing atmosphere.
She definitely liked this place.
"Mam, this way."
The waiter stooped before a table. Chloe put smiled at him.
"Thank you. Umm, where's the washroom?"
"Take this passage ahead, at the end of it" he pointed to one side"
"Thanks."
The attendant retreated. Chloe walked along the direction mentioned by him.
At the end of the passage, there was two washroom — one of the ladies and another, gents.
She pushed the door and slid inside. She looked at her in the huge mirror of the washroom. Today, she was dressed in a olive business suit. Due to the long journey, the hair was disshelved a bit.
Chloe emerged from the stall, combed her hair a little to set it then reach out to take her purse. As she stepped outside the washroom and turned around to walk towards her table, suddenly a collinsion!
She had collides with someone. She lost her balance and was about to fall, but the man immediately grabbed her waist and prevented her from falling.
And the scent of his perfume hit her - a rich, seductive blend of musk and lavender that wrapped around her!
She could feel the strong grip of his hand on her waist, their bodies were almost touched, the warmth surrounding her.
"Are you alright?"
He asked in a deep voice.
"Hell! His voice was so seductive!" Chloe wondered.
She stabled herself and took a step back.
"Yeah, thanks."
Her gaze fell on the man standing in front if her. The man was tall, with an imposing figure, clad in a sleek black bhsiness suit that accentuated his broad shoulders. The sharp jawlines and piercing eyes made him way more attractive! His dark hair was perfectly styled, altogether added a sophisticated aura to his presence.
The man didn't say another word, walking towards the front passage. Chloe stood there, watching him disappear.
Her heart was beating fast, and without even seeing a mirror, she could tell that her cheeks were flushed.
A subtle smile played on her lips — in that fleeting moment, he'd left an indelible mark on her - an impression of kindness, strength, and undeniable charm.
