Chapter 3 Give me something to eat.

Adam casually threw his coat on the sofa, and his tall figure was clearly outlined by the black shirt, but it was too aggressive.

Alice lowered her gaze slightly, and she still had some memories from two years ago. She knew what was under that shirt - sexy, wild, and full of muscular strength

"Why...did you bring me here?" she asked timidly.

In the face of absolute power, she wouldn't dare to confront it head-on. That would be suicidal.

However, as soon as she finished speaking, she heard a rumbling sound coming from her hungry stomach.

Alice's face turned red with embarrassment. Since she got off the plane, she hadn't even had a sip of water, let alone dinner. After going through all the scares on the way, her physical strength was almost depleted.

"It seems like you're hungry," Adam said in a cold and stern voice. "Bring it in!"

On the other side, a middle-aged man in work clothes brought a bowl of steaming noodles and placed it on the coffee table.

"Mr. Davis, the seafood noodles are ready," the butler Daniel said and stepped aside respectfully, as if he didn't exist.

But when Alice heard the words "seafood noodles," her face turned pale.

"Your dinner is ready to be enjoyed," Adam said, looking at her coldly.

"I...I'm allergic to seafood and can't eat it," Alice's voice trembled.

She was especially afraid of her allergy because once she ate seafood, the situation would become very serious, even life-threatening if not treated in time! She had experienced it before...

"So you're wasting my kindness," Adam's black eyes were filled with anger.

Alice understood. Adam was doing this on purpose. He wanted her dead!

"No...I can't eat it, I'll die..." Alice resisted, backing away.

Adam stepped forward, grabbed Alice's arm, and threw her towards the coffee table. "Eat it!"

"Ah!" Alice fell onto the coffee table, her handbag sliding out and skidding two or three meters across the floor.

The key was that, in her rush to shut down, she hadn't had time to zip up her handbag, and now her phone had fallen out.

Alice stared nervously at the exposed phone, ignoring the pain in her knee.

The key was that Adam was walking towards the phone.

As he picked up the phone, Alice's breathing and heartbeat stopped.

Adam held the phone and found that it had been turned off.

He pressed the side button and turned it on.

He found that the phone had not been turned off due to a lack of battery.

"I...I was afraid my aunt would call, so I turned it off..." Alice knew that Adam hated her aunt and saw her as an enemy.

"Password." Adam's gaze swept over her like ice.

Alice's inner fear had spread to her neck, almost suffocating her.

But she knew that the more she felt this way, the more she needed to stay calm.

"Let me..." Alice walked over, took Adam's phone, and walked to the coffee table, as if afraid someone would see the password.Adam just looked at her coldly, with a hint of sarcasm. Alice typed in her password while looking around. Suddenly, she picked up the seafood noodles on the coffee table and threw them towards Adam! With a loud bang, the noodles landed between the two of them, splashing soup and water all over the floor, blocking Adam's way. Adam's dark eyes flashed with a fierce glint as he shouted, "Catch her!" Alice was so scared that she ran even faster.

As she ran out of the lobby, she saw the bodyguards coming towards her and quickly turned to run in another direction. There was an exposed staircase on one side, and Alice hurriedly ran down it. However, it was difficult to run down the stairs in high heels, let alone in a hurry. Suddenly, she lost her footing and fell down the stairs, screaming, "Ah!" Adam caught up and stood at the top of the stairs, looking down at her coldly. At the bottom of the stairs, Alice lay on the ground, unconscious, with a head injury and blood flowing down her face.

Alice suddenly woke up, as if she had just escaped from a nightmare. She sat up, feeling dizzy and moaning. She touched her forehead and felt the gauze there. She remembered falling down the stairs and waking up in this strange room. It was already bright outside... Alice panicked and covered her chest, quickly getting out of bed and into the bathroom.

After closing the door, Alice took out her phone from her chest. She had hidden it there when she escaped, and luckily it was safe. Regardless of the situation, Alice immediately deleted all messages about the child from her phone. Anyway, there were backups on the computer in the rented room. After finishing this, she sent a message to Aunt Charlotte: "Don't call me, and don't let the child call me. I have some issues here. I will call you after it's over. Remember."

Aunt Charlotte replied: "What happened?"

Alice replied: "Don't worry, I'm fine. Please take care of the child for me."

After finishing the message, Alice walked out of the bathroom. She looked around the room, which was unfamiliar to her, but the low-key luxury style made her guess that it was a mansion. She didn't need to think too much to know that it was Adam's idea. What did he want to do? Regardless of his intentions, Alice would definitely not stay here. She had to leave!

Alice opened the door and looked for the stairs. The house was so big that she almost got lost. After going downstairs, she didn't care about her handbag and just held her phone and left. However, before she reached the large iron gate, she was stopped by someone in front of her. She almost ran into him and had to step back quickly. Alice tried to remain calm and said, "Let me leave."

"This is Mr. Davis's instruction," the bodyguard replied in a voice as cold as a machine."Where is he...where is he?"

"I don't know."

Alice knew that it was impossible to rush out like this. What should she do?

She returned to her room and called Bella on her phone. "Aunt, didn't you say that Adam had disappeared from Star City a long time ago? Why did he show up?"

If Adam were in Star City, he would have come here!

"He's not here! We haven't heard from him in years. If he was in Star City, we would know, and I wouldn't keep it from you!"

Alice believed her aunt, so why did Adam show up at her aunt and Benjamin's wedding anniversary party? Was it because of family ties?

Impossible.

Her aunt had told her that Adam had cut off all ties with Benjamin and the entire Davis family, and they had nothing to do with each other. So why...

Alice rubbed her forehead, feeling a headache coming on.

Adam didn't come to attend the party, he was waiting for her to fall into this trap. But now it was too late to react...

"Alice, what's wrong? What happened? I've been trying to call you but your phone was off."

"...Nothing, I just saw an old friend, went to the bar and drank too much..." Alice lied, because she didn't want to involve her aunt, especially since Adam was only targeting her now.
