Alice lowered her gaze, her smile faint. "Really?"

"I heard... my brother also went to Uncle's wedding anniversary banquet. He didn't do anything to you, did he?" Ethan asked.

The trees and bushes in the Imperial Garden seemed like devilish creatures in the dark. Alice nervously swallowed and walked up the steps to the hall.

"I didn't go anywhere... I got a job today at a plastic surgery hospital..." Alice said, knowing that there was no point in hiding anything from Adam since he would find out anyway.

Adam looked at her coldly. "Come closer."
