There was a reservation for guests in the evening, so they would need to work overtime.

At six o'clock, Alice was about to eat her own bread to satisfy her hunger when her phone rang. She looked at the caller ID and answered, "I'm working overtime."

Alice walked into the reception room and saw Ethan sitting inside waiting for her.

"I just wanted to do something nice for you. Is that not okay?" Ethan saw her standing there stunned, grabbed her delicate wrist, and pulled her over.

Alice's body stiffened when she was touched, and she sat down in the chair at a loss.

Looking at the food in front of her, she asked, "Why are you so good to me?"

Ethan's eyes were gentle. "I'm good to you. If you accept it, it's that simple. There's no pressure, just like a few years ago when youwere at Davis Family. If you're happy, call me Second Brother."

Second Brother... Alice lowered her gaze. She had nightmares because she called Adam "Big Brother" back then.

She shouldn't be meeting Ethan repeatedly...

"If you don't eat it soon, my kindness will go to waste." Ethan raised his hand and rubbed her head, like a caring older brother.

Alice ran her fingers through her hair, slightly annoyed. "I'm not a child, why are you patting my head?"

Ethan couldn't help but laugh. "Okay, no more patting. Eat up!"

Watching Alice eat with her cute expression, he thought to himself that even at twenty-one, she was still a child in his eyes.

"By the way, how's Mr. Xia doing?" Alice asked, remembering to inquire.

Adam strode into the reception room, his tall figure exerting a suffocating pressure on everyone in the room.

After Adam and Ethan left, Alice's body went limp and she sat down on the chair.

Alice covered her face in despair.

Adam bought a plastic surgery hospital just to control her.

Alice answered, "Hello?"

"Mom? Is this my mommy?" A childish voice came through the phone, instantly melting away all her exhaustion.

"Yes, it's your mommy. What time is it? Why are you awake? Where are your brothers?" Alice asked.

The caller was her daughter Lily, who pouted, "Big brother Meng hasn't woken up yet. I wanted to talk to mommy, so I borrowed grandma's phone to call you!"

Alice knew it was like this, without blaming, with a smile on her lips. "Hmm, Mom misses you guys too." After all, the children knew nothing.

"Is Mom done with work?"

"Just finished, getting ready to go home!"

"Not coming back to this home?"

Alice was about to say something when Aunt Charlotte's voice came through. "Lily, why are you using the phone?""I'm calling Mom."

Alice listened to her daughter's soft voice and smiled tenderly. She thought about video chatting with the children when it was daylight over there.

The door to the changing room opened, and Alice thought it was a colleague.

But when she turned her head and saw that deep, dark, slender figure, she turned pale with fear...

"Who are you calling?" Adam's expression was cold and emotionless.

"No one..." Alice was stiff all over, filled with fear.

"Give it to me."

Alice turned and ran, trying to end the call on her phone.

"Ah!" Alice screamed and tried to grab the phone, but her neck was suddenly grabbed, and she was pinned to the wardrobe!"Ugh!" Adam held the phone, and the call had already ended.

He dialed the number back and put it on speakerphone.
