Lucienne had only one goal in her life; to finish her favourite book series and die. But fate had other plans for her. 

After her untimely death, Lucienne finds herself in her favourite novel series, The Children Of Miseria. Now, in this strange yet familiar world, she has to find a way to survive and save the characters she has grown to love while keeping her secrets.

But as she slowly loses herself to this dark world, she realises that her secrets were only the tip of the iceberg. The world itself was full of unsolved mysteries, and as she struggles to deal with complex ideals and her connection to this twisted world, she finds herself slowly turning into something she fears.

"Finally," Lucienne said aloud with excitement, "I finally finished the second book!" She had been reading this book for over two months now, and had only managed to finish it this afternoon. It was her goal to read every book of her favourite novel series, The Children of Miseria.

The novel itself was about people with supernatural powers, but it went deeper than that: it reflected the dark nature of humanity. Several books were published under the same name, each focusing on a different timeline and character. So Lucienne, being a dedicated reader of The Children Of Miseria, decided to read all of them.

"Well then, time to get the third one!" She said to herself as she began walking towards her room in order to get ready to go outside. After lazily brushing her short auburn hair and dressing herself with a comfortable yet stylish outfit, consisting of a brown oversized shirt over a black tank top and baggy pants, she left her apartment with a hopeful glint in her emerald eyes and locked the door. 'Once I finish these books…'

A girl with a goal of ending it all, and a book series she is determined to finish before her death. Having been abandoned by her parents at an early age, The Children Of Miseria was the only thing that kept Lucienne alive.

Sadly though, she would never get to read the third book. Speaking of which, did I mention that she was walking on a bridge as we speak? The bridge where she would meet the one person that changed her life forever, the bridge where she would fulfill her destiny.
