Ethan must have gotten too worked up, because he suddenly passed out.
"We'll need to switch to a C-section."
Ethan had suffered enough, so there was no need to make things harder on him now.
The surgery went smoothly. My daughter was born beautiful and healthy, no longer the frail little thing from my past life.
Vanessa eagerly came to hold her grandchild, but when she heard it was a girl, her face immediately fell. She didn't even bother to hide her disappointment as she grabbed her purse and left.
Harmony leaned in for a look and said with disdain, "She's so ugly - all wrinkly."
The baby looked like me, nothing like Ethan or Harmony.
"Babies get cuter as they grow," the new nanny Mrs. Winters chimed in helpfully, only to receive a vicious glare from Harmony.
That evening when Ethan woke up, his first question was about the baby.
