"A monster? You can call me that if you want!" Arthur yawned, scratching his ears.
"Where are the blueprints for Maxim?"
He scanned his surroundings. He found a box on a high platform in front of the temple. It was made of gold, the rarest material on Birka.
"Zzzzt!"
He channeled electricity into his hand, drawing the golden box to him with electromagnetic force.
"Crack!"
The box opened. Inside was a thick stack of blueprints. Arthur flipped through them, his eyes shining.
"Hahaha, my Ark blueprints."
Even though he couldn't understand the blueprints, he could make out some of the components, like the power source.
"With the Rumble-Rumble Fruit in hand and the blueprints for Maxim, it's time to leave this barren land of Birka." Arthur was feeling reflective.
He recalled his careful planning, his five-year wait, and the year spent searching for the Rumble-Rumble Fruit. Now, everything was in his grasp.
"The sea is where a man belongs, the place where my journey begins—Birka, farewell!!" Arthur murmured.
Electric arcs danced around him, crackling. He stomped his foot, breaking through the temple roof, and soared into the sky, flying towards Angel Island at high speed.
The blue lightning was dazzling in the night sky, startling the guards who had come after hearing the commotion.
They could only bow down and pray, shouting "God of Thunder!"
Enel hid behind a cloud house, staring blankly at the departing figure. He felt like he had lost something important.
...
Arthur flew at low altitude, the speed of lightning making him practically invisible on the surface of the sea. Only a faint blue light could be seen before it vanished again.
"Long-distance flight really drains stamina. Maintaining high speed doubles the drain!" He silently assessed his stamina consumption.
Even though it was draining, Arthur didn't worry too much. He knew the limits of his current, electrically-enhanced body.
"At this point, if I were back on the Blue Sea, I could probably be considered a big-shot pirate with a bounty of over 300 million Belly—Maybe even higher," Arthur thought, feeling a surge of confidence.
The fruit, which had made him gamble with his life, had increased his power to a terrifying degree. It was definitely the fastest way to gain power among all the Devil Fruits.
He was glad he had taken the gamble.
Flying at high speed, he silently calculated the route he had taken to Birka over a year ago. Maintaining this speed, he estimated it would take about half an hour to reach Angel Island.
Lightning could travel at nearly the speed of light, but Arthur's body couldn't handle that kind of speed, even after being elementalized into lightning.
If he forced it, his body would likely collapse. He figured the current Marine Vice Admiral—Kizaru, probably had the same problem.
Speed was useless if the body couldn't keep up. The reflexes couldn't keep up.
Arthur slightly reduced his speed to conserve stamina, in case he needed it upon arriving at Angel Island.
"Whoosh!!"
Not long after he slowed down, a Sea King, looking like a cross between a fish and a snake, suddenly targeted him, mistaking him for a flying lightbulb. It opened its massive jaws, trying to intercept him.
"Foolish!"
Arthur's Observation Haki had already detected the Sea King. He didn't even bother to turn around. A bolt of lightning shot out and struck the Sea King directly in its open maw.
"BOOOMMMMM!!"
The 150-foot-long, snake-like Sea King with a fish's head was instantly pierced through, the areas where the lightning struck instantly turning to charcoal as it fell into the water.
A few seconds later, he left the dead Sea King far behind, continuing his unwavering advance towards Angel Island.
As he further developed his Rumble-Rumble Fruit powers and continued to train his Observation Haki, combining the Fruit's power with his Haki, his detection range had reached six miles in the past month.
This meant that as long as he had his Observation Haki active, he could clearly perceive everything that happened within a six-mile radius.
Of course, he wouldn't be unaware of a little water current.
So, in the future—when he sailed the unpredictable Grand Line and the New World, he could act as his own navigator by sensing the direction of the wind and the flow of the currents.
"Right now, my Observation Haki combined with the electric field is growing rapidly. It won't be long, maybe a year or two, before my detection range covers the entire Sky Island. The future top spot for Observation Haki—I'll gladly accept it! Haha."
Arthur was feeling fantastic. Others trained painstakingly for decades, hoping to make a name for themselves one day.
However, some people could grow stronger just by sleeping.
That was the difference—
There was truly no fairness in the world. Sometimes, a little bit of luck could surpass a lifetime of effort.
Arthur had awakened his Observation Haki just over a year ago, But after eating the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, it had increased—a hundredfold.
It was enough to make most people on the Grand Line jealous.
...
Morning arrived. Sunlight pierced through the clouds, shining on Upper Yard.
Inside the resplendent temple!
"So, you're saying that the entrance to Angel Island has been sealed off, that you've searched every corner of Angel Island for over a year, and you still haven't found the 'madman' who killed my people?"
The current God of Sky Island, Gan Fall, wore a silver helmet and armor. He held a knight's lance. He sat calmly on the throne, his beard slightly white.
"Please forgive us, God!" The captain of the God's Militia, McKinley, knelt on one knee, filled with trepidation.
"That madman likely has only two paths. One is to go deep into the White-White Sea, searching for other existing cloud islands. The other is—to seek refuge with the damned Shandians. It's even possible that the killer is a Shandian."
"It can't be the Shandians. If it were them, how could they have bypassed us, bypassed Angel Island, and killed Amazon, Abel, and Urouge?" Gan Fall's eyes flashed with wisdom.
"Then..." McKinley buried his head even lower—ashamed that he had spent an entire year and still hadn't found the culprit.
"Increase patrols. Assign some of the God's Militia to investigate this matter. We must find this madman who desecrated the wings of my Skypiean people and subject him to Cloud Drifting!" Gan Fall waved his hand, giving the order.
"Assign the God's Militia? But what about the Shandians..." McKinley was taken aback.
"You don't need to worry about that. Step down!"
"Yes!"
