"You old geezer—A relic of a bygone era! It's time to step aside and make way for the new generation!"
"I can still fight for another thirty years, you brat! Now, come quietly back to Impel Down!"
BOOOOOM!!!
Shockwaves rippled outwards from their clash, the very air within the anglerfish's stomach vibrating, the floating islands crumbling under the pressure, the scene a chaotic wasteland.
Arthur, his striped prison garb straining against his bulging muscles, his face flushed with exertion, and Garp, his jaw clenched, his face red with effort, were locked in a stalemate—a test of pure strength, neither yielding an inch.
"What kind of…protective barrier…is this?" Garp gasped, his eyes fixed on Arthur, trying to understand the invisible force that neutralized his attacks. It felt like punching a thick, invisible wall—similar to Andre's Barrier-Barrier Fruit, but even more resilient.
He hadn't expected the Rumble-Rumble Fruit to have such potential. With this defense, as long as Arthur had stamina, he was practically invincible...
"Why would I tell you, old man?" Arthur retorted, sweat dripping from his brow. He was expending stamina far more rapidly than Garp.
The stalemate couldn't last. Arthur's Isolation Field, while deflecting Garp's attacks, was draining his energy at an alarming rate. Even his enhanced regeneration couldn't keep up.
As he spoke, Arthur's leg, crackling with blue lightning, shot out, aimed at Garp's stomach.
Zzzzzzt!
Bang!!
Garp, though he'd seen the movement, couldn't react in time. The lightning-fast kick slammed into him, sending him flying backwards into a pile of rubble.
He slid across the floating island, the force of the impact causing it to crack and crumble, sinking into the churning acid.
Arthur, launching himself into the air, looked down at Garp, who was slowly picking himself up from the debris, a triumphant grin spreading across his face.
"HAHAHAHAHA! Old man, you're not breaking through my defenses with brute force alone!"
While not as physically strong as Garp, Arthur's superior defenses had allowed him to gain the upper hand, sending the legendary Marine flying.
As long as his attacks remained within the protective embrace of the Isolation Field, and he didn't encounter any unusual Devil Fruit abilities—Arthur was practically untouchable.
There were Devil Fruits that could counter him—like the future Inazuma's Snip-Snip Fruit or Law's Op-Op Fruit—but they couldn't reach him without being detected. So, even that small risk was negligible.
While the Door-Door Fruit and the Mirror-Mirror Fruit offered superior escape capabilities—their combat potential paled in comparison to the Rumble-Rumble Fruit.
His Isolation Field was practically an absolute defense, rivaling the Barrier-Barrier Fruit. His speed was unmatched, his strength Admiral-level, just a step away from the very peak.
—He feared no one on the Grand Line.
Even if they were stronger, what could they do if they couldn't touch him?
And as long as he maintained his Electromagnetism-enhanced training, his physical strength would continue to grow—along with his stamina reserves.
He was becoming truly formidable—an unstoppable force.
Once he completed his business in Paradise, acquired what he needed—he would head to the New World.
He couldn't wait to join the fray, to carve out his own territory, to make his mark on this chaotic era.
"HAHAHAHAHA! Old man Garp—"
Blue-white lightning crackled around Arthur as he hovered in the air, his laughter echoing through the anglerfish's stomach.
"Your era—is over!"
His laughter intensified, the lightning flaring brighter, the electrical field growing increasingly unstable, arcs of electricity dancing around him. A blue orb of light pulsed in the air, visible to every creature within the anglerfish's stomach.
Rumble!
The electrical discharge seemed to agitate the anglerfish, causing it to thrash violently in the depths, despite the risk of attracting other Sea Kings.
The world within its stomach tilted and spun, the corrosive acid sloshing violently, slamming into the wrecked warships, dissolving the remaining Marines on board.
The creatures native to the anglerfish's stomach, accustomed to such turbulence, had braced themselves, surviving the upheaval.
"If you have nothing else to offer—Vice Admiral, you die here!" Arthur's voice boomed, a thunderous declaration.
The crackling arcs of electricity converged on him, his body slowly dissolving into pure lightning, transforming into his Thunder God form.
Arthur, his power surging, prepared to end this.
His aura, potent and terrifying, radiated outwards, the light so intense it was almost blinding.
"Two Hundred Million Volts—Thunder Dragon!!!"
He roared, pushing his lightning manipulation to its absolute limit, the chaotic electrical energy in the air condensing, taking shape before him.
Roar!
A massive, thirty-foot-long dragon, formed of pure, blue-white lightning, materialized, its every scale, every claw, every tooth, a masterpiece of electrical energy, as if it had stepped out of another dimension.
This wasn't his usual One Hundred Million Volt Thunder Dragon. This was its evolved form, twice the voltage, ten times the power—a concentrated blast of pure destruction.
"Go!" Arthur's gaze locked onto Garp as he unleashed the beast.
Zzzzzzt!
The Thunder Dragon, roaring, its massive form crackling with electricity, vanished in a flash, reappearing instantly before Garp.
ROAR!
Its jaws opened wide, lunging towards him.
"Bwahahaha! You think you can defeat me, you brat? You're a thousand years too early!"
Garp, unfazed, grinned, his fists clenching, coated in Armament Haki.
