The form that revealed itself in the soft light of the morning sun was definitely human. However, the composition of the figure was quite different from what was expected: it was a woman, whose skin resembled the bark of a tree, with moss and vines growing in some places; her hair was green and long, trailing to the ground, and — between the strands, which were like grass — small white and pink flowers bloomed.
Her slender, elegant body, with its wooden face made up of soft lines and an almost angelic expression, left the E.G.O. men speechless. Although unknown, this majestic creature didn't seem to offer any danger.
This was the true form of Sete, the Spring — or rather, it was just a remnant of her former appearance.
The naked young woman, made of nature itself, walked slowly and planted her feet on the ground of the clearing. The agents sighed, Sete seemed to glide across the grass. A gentle breeze blew her long hair to the side and revealed bright green orbs, there was no pupil or the whites of her eyes, just a deep, vivid forest.
Sete's vision passed through those men, as if she couldn't actually see them. Soon, she knelt down where she was and buried her wooden fingers in the ground, almost instinctively rooting herself. The soldiers didn't react much, still in shock or too impressed by that fantastic figure to think clearly.
Then the wildflowers scattered throughout the corruption-free area shook. No one but Sete noticed, after all, it was she who was behind this movement.
However, when the flowers began to increase in size and expel a thick, toxic pollen, the E.G.O. agents finally became agitated. The situation became especially alarming when the men began to fall, one by one, lying unconscious on the ground.
Sete stood up, half staggering after using most of the 1% power he had, and walked slowly among the fallen soldiers. Some of them groaned and the captain tried to hold the young woman by the heel, she looked down and said in a tone too threatening for her delicate face:
— Don't follow me, I'll kill you all if we meet again.
She disappeared through the gray, corrupted trees, getting as far away from the place as possible. The weakness from using her powers was gradually taking over her body. As she walked, she used the last remnants of the strength she had saved to create a cloak of soft moss, with which she wrapped herself tightly.
After a few hours of walking, it was night. Sete came across a large corrupted tree and decided to rest between its leafy roots. Her wooden skin had become pale and soft. Human. She thought as she lay on the ground with heavy eyes. It didn't take her long to curl up into a ball under the blanket of moss and then fall asleep.
Just then, a translucent blue screen appeared in Sete's mind:
