The Confession Letter

The CEO's office was vast, but Wan Qing had no time to appreciate its grandeur. As soon as she entered, Mu Tianyang's voice rang out: "Come here."

She looked up to find him sitting behind his desk, a massive floor-to-ceiling window stretching behind him. From there, the entire city sprawled beneath his gaze. He sat atop the city, exuding a commanding presence.

At night, in his study, he seemed far gentler compared to his current self.

But for her, no matter which version of Mu Tianyang it was, she felt fear. Right now, however, his presence didn't heighten that fear—there was no varying degree to her terror; it was simply there or not. As for the intensity of it, no one could truly gauge.

She obediently walked up to him, and he pulled her into his arms, inspecting her hand before teasingly brushing his fingers over her fingertips. "Have you had breakfast?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"I woke up at ten, and I was planning to go to school."

He glanced at her. "I'll take you to school after lunch."

A flicker of relief crossed her face. "Okay."

Suddenly, he lifted her onto his lap.

She struggled for a moment, hesitant to resist him. What if this displeased him and he decided not to let her go to school? Reluctantly, she stopped fighting, sitting stiffly. If he wanted to claim her here, she would allow it…

His hand wandered to her waist, slipping beneath her shirt. As he kissed her cheek, he murmured, "Baby…"

"Mm…" She didn't like him calling her that. She wasn't a nameless person.

"Come kiss me."

Wan Qing froze, staring at him. After a few seconds, she obeyed and pressed her lips to his.

His lips were thin, cool, and slightly firm.

She wasn't sure how to kiss him and feared he might not be satisfied, so she kissed him earnestly, putting all her effort into mimicking how he'd kissed her before.

It didn't seem quite right. She became more urgent with the kiss, but there was no response from him. Perhaps she wasn't doing it well enough.

Suddenly, he pushed her away and stood up. "Let's go."

Wan Qing was momentarily stunned before following him out of the office. She kept her head down the entire time, avoiding eye contact. Once in the car, he lifted her chin, smiling. "You did well just now..."

Her face flushed instantly.

He kissed her lightly, as a reward.

Later that evening, while she was doing her homework, Mu Tianyang, seemingly bored, picked up her book and flipped through it. She glanced at him but didn't dare ask what he was doing, letting him be.

Suddenly, he pulled out a piece of paper from the book and asked, "What's this?"

Wan Qing had no idea, so she reached out to take it. He moved it away, staring into her eyes, his expression unreadable. Her heart raced, unsure of what was happening. He let out a chuckle. "Just teasing you. Keep doing your homework."

She sighed in relief but couldn't help but shoot him a resentful glance. How could he scare her like that…

She dared not yell at him, so she went back to her work.

Mu Tianyang smirked, studying the piece of paper seriously. After a moment, he tossed it into the drawer and resumed his reading.

The next day at school, a boy walked up to Wan Qing, hesitating before asking, "Ding Wan Qing, that… "

"That what?" she asked, confused by his stammering.

The boy gathered his courage. "Did you read the letter I gave you?"

Wan Qing froze, for some reason thinking back to the piece of paper from last night. She was startled. "What letter?"

"I… I put it in your physics book."

"Physics book?" Mu Tianyang had been looking at her physics book last night! She gasped, "What did you write?!"

The boy became nervous. "I… I asked if you'd be my girlfriend! Didn't you read it?"
