Chapter 4: Unexpected Transformation

Evelyn woke up immediately after hearing Astrid's cry and quickly picked her up.

"What happened? Why is she crying?" she asked, trying to calm Astrid.

"I don't know," Ciara said, a frown forming on her forehead as she glared at Astrid.

"Hehe, you're glaring? Okay," Astrid thought, immediately increasing the tone of her cries.

"Ahh, Mom! Isn't this intentional?" Ciara said, covering her ears from Astrid's deafening cries.

"It's not possible—she's still a child. Go get some food," Evelyn said as she continued trying to hush Astrid.

Ciara got up angrily, stomping to the kitchen. "So annoying. All she knows how to do is piss someone off," she muttered, carrying Astrid's already-prepared food back to her mother.

"Here, Mom," she said, walking back into the room.

Evelyn immediately took the bottle, intending to put it in Astrid's mouth.

"Hell nah, I ain't eating from that. I'm not a baby," Astrid thought, turning her head to refuse the food.

*Growl.*

"This body... urghh, so damn weak. Can't even starve for a few hours. Weakling," Astrid muttered in her head, the faint banana scent from the baby food tickling her nose. Yet, she still turned her face away from where Evelyn held the bottle, driven by her pride.

"Baby, is this how she acted when you fed her in the afternoon? C'mon, dear, open up," Evelyn said, staring lovingly at Astrid, not removing her eyes for a second, patiently waiting for her to accept the food.

Ciara's heart began to pound when she heard her mother's question. Beads of sweat formed on her forehead as she clutched her pajamas tightly. "Y-yes, Mom. It's like she's trying to study whether the food is poisoned."

A smile formed on Evelyn's face as she stared into Astrid's eyes. "C'mon, dear, it's poison-free," she coaxed gently.

"Fuck, I'm starving, but I can't eat from that—never!" Astrid thought, turning her eyes away from Evelyn.

*Growl.*

"Well, it's not like I want to eat, but with the way this strange woman is pleading... I can't say no to her. Fine, woman, just this once," Astrid decided, turning to Evelyn, who placed the feeding bottle in her mouth. Astrid sucked hard and fast as if she could drain all the food in one go.

"Damn, this is so weird. Like I'm sucking a cock," Astrid thought, keeping her mouth on the bottle.

Evelyn chuckled. "So hungry... go get another one," she said to Ciara, watching Astrid eat like she hadn't seen food in her entire life.

A few minutes later, Ciara returned with another bottle in her hand. Astrid accepted it without hesitation. In less than thirty minutes, Astrid lay in Evelyn's arms, her stomach protruding.

"Such a delicious meal. I'm not exhausted," Astrid muttered in her mind, yawning as tiredness crept in.

"Go to bed now, baby," Evelyn said, rocking Astrid to sleep.

A yawn escaped Astrid's lips. Enjoying the motherly care she hadn't experienced in her previous life, she thought, "Maybe this rebirth mother isn't as bad as I thought," before drifting into a deep slumber.

"Mom—"

"Shush," Evelyn said, hushing Ciara. She walked up to Ciara, who stood at the room door looking neglected.

"Come now, baby, let me put you to sleep," Evelyn said, carrying Ciara to the bed.

"Okay, Mom," Ciara said, slipping under her covers.

"Good night, baby," Evelyn said, kissing Ciara on the head before walking back to Astrid, who was already deeply asleep. She also kissed her before slumping onto the bed and falling asleep immediately. Soon, their soft breathing filled the room, creating a relaxing rhythm as they slept peacefully.

---

The next morning, Evelyn was the first to wake, leaving the room to prepare breakfast for Astrid and Ciara. As soon as she shut the door behind her, Astrid opened her eyes and glanced at the ceiling above.

"It's been a while since I slept so peacefully. Hehe, being a child again isn't as bad as I thought," she said, yawning wide awake.

Ciara's faint breathing echoed in the room, making it relaxing, coupled with the chilling breeze flowing in through the window.

"This kid is better off when she's asleep," Astrid muttered, glancing at Ciara, who was fast asleep, snuggling with her pink teddy bear.

A few hours later, golden sunlight filled the room. Ciara yawned awake, accidentally pushing something heavy to the ground. She froze when she realized she had pushed Astrid to the floor, waiting for her reaction.

"So annoying—being tossed around like this and unable to do anything," Astrid thought, glaring at Ciara. "Pick me up already," she muttered internally.

"Ciara, it's morning already. Come down for breakfast with your sister!" Evelyn's voice echoed from the sitting room.

"Yes, Mom!" Ciara shouted, letting her mother know she was up. She immediately picked Astrid up from the ground.

"It's good you didn't play any tricks today," Ciara said, yanking Astrid up.

"Spare me that crap," Astrid muttered in her mind, rolling her eyes at Ciara's statement.

Ciara carried Astrid to the living room, where a brown wolf walked around, the air around it screamed confidence and authority, its gaze was calm as it handled issues in the house faster despite the paws.

"What the fuck?!" Astrid thought, her body tensing as her eyes darted between the wolf and Ciara, who smiled brightly.

"Morning, Mom!" Ciara said, walking up to the brown wolf.

"W-what the fuck?!" Astrid repeated internally, her heart pounding as Ciara carried her closer to the wolf. Her tiny fists clenched tightly in anxiety.

The brown wolf suddenly transformed into a naked woman with ginger-colored hair, a beautiful smile gracing her lips. She casually picked up the clothes resting on the couch.

"Morning, baby. How are you?" she asked, slipping into her dress.

"Evelyn... is a wolf?" Astrid thought, her confusion growing as she stared at Evelyn walking up to them.

"I'm fine, Mom. Why did you change to your human form? I love seeing your wolf! I can't wait to have my own wolf, Mommy," Ciara said excitedly, handing Astrid to Evelyn.

"No, don't touch me! You both shouldn't touch me!" Astrid yelled internally, trying to slap Evelyn's hands away, but her tiny, chubby arms couldn't do much damage.

"Baby, you're still a kid. When you turn eighteen, your wolf will reveal itself," Evelyn said, dotingly holding Astrid while patting Ciara's head.

"Yes, Mom. I can't wait to be eighteen! I'll invite everyone in Kron to witness my beautiful transformation," Ciara said with a bright smile.

A light chuckle escaped Evelyn's lips. "Okay, darling. But first, you have to eat breakfast," she said, leading Ciara to their worn-down dining table.

Astrid, who had been silently watching the scene, thought, "So I reincarnated in a country named Kron. From the way they talk, I think everyone here is a werewolf. It's too dangerous to take this baby body outside since I can't protect myself—not yet. Fuck, I'm living in one of those fantasy novels. I was an assassin before—what, am I going to become a werewolf now? Too cringe for me. For now, I'll stay here. When I'm old enough to walk and talk, I'll get the hell out of this strange place."

Suddenly, a blinding light appeared in front of Astrid's eyes.

"What's all this?" she muttered before her world went black.

---

"Astrid, wake up! It's time for school!"

"Fuck, I don't feel like it," Astrid said, yawning awake. She lazily scratched her eyes and got out of bed, heading to the bathroom. As she bathed, it hit her.

"I can walk! Fuck, and talk!" she exclaimed, rushing to finish her bath. She stormed back into her room, standing in front of a huge mirror to look at herself.

"Though I still look young… well, fuck that. I'm not that silly kid anymore!" she said excitedly.

"Things have changed in the blink of an eye. I wonder what will happen next," she muttered, glancing at the brown wooden door.
